Can an accepted offer be a lowball offer too?
Yeah well, I didn't understand it either
Can an accepted offer be a lowball offer too?
I feel the same way but this has happened to me. I made an offer on something, paid promptly, and received the item which as not in the excellent condition as advertised. I mentioned that and then the "lowball" word came out. As far as I kniw I di...
PASS LABS/WILSON SPEAKERS--Chicago
If you're really into detail, might be a match made in heaven for you
Conrad Johnson--Best used Model
XP15 is a phono preamp. I would have to concur that there is a substantial positive benefit of running balanced outputs from a preamp to a Pass amp, and you can't do that with CJ.
Conrad Johnson--Best used Model
Used to own a 17LS2. I rank it as the 2nd best preamp I ever owned
What is more accurate: magnetic anti-skating, or barrel weight attached a fishline?
Anti-skate is always an approximation. The weighted string method can be quite good, though. The string is fishing line so its unlikely to break, and once on the arm, you're not going to loose it. I would not let method of applying anti-skate dete...
Why so many headphones for sale with less than 10 hours of listening time?
First, I would be highly skeptical of any number of hour claims. Frankly, take them with a grain of salt. Next, there are quite a few headphones that initially sound impressive but with headphones, much more so than most other gear, listening fati...
Pass Labs X-1 vs XP-20
I will chime in- The XP20 is the 3rd Pass preamp I've owned. It is deadly quiet and quieter than my prior Pass preamps. And by a wide margin better. Before this I thought the best preamp I ever owned was a CJ 17 LS2. I had an Aleph P before that a...
Pass Labs X-1 vs XP-20
I’ve owned a number of preamps over the years. Had a CJ Premier, and a total of 3 Pass preamps, among others. The XP20 is the best preamp I have ever owned and not by a small margin. Do use balanced connections with Pass gear if you can- it makes ...
When and what was your last significant equipment upgrade?
I also have a UPS amp and preamp. Looks suspiciously like Pass gear
Upsetting story looking for a solution
If you bought the speakers new I would suggest working with the original seller and try to work out deal. When my kids were younger I fully expected that someone would poke a driver- fortunately, never happened. I also expected some small toy woul...
NYC Stereo Consultant ?
Mike Trei is the NY area turntable guru. He set up a friend's table spectacularly well.
Thoughts on my current system
Sort of an impossible question to,answer, as is.do you have any complaints regarding your present system? What will your listening room be like in your new place? What’s your budget?
Speaker cable lengths doe it matter they are not equal???
Keep it equal, but I am skeptical that any difference would be audibly significant
Just entered the world of high resolution audio
Added Ellington's Afro-Bossa.  Really nice
