Considering buying a CD transport
Sim Audio Neo 260D is an excellent transport and fits in your price range. Cables between the transport and DAC make a difference. Many advocate with an extremely short digital IC or if that's not doable, then at least 1.5 m. Also note that ther B...
Am I the only one to opt-out on the Sopra 2's?
I listened to the Sopra 2's last fall. I expected from all I read to be blown away.  Didn't care for them one bit. Utterly disappointed. I liked the Sopra 1's, Wilson Sabrina, and Revel Studio 2's. Bought the Revels. I could have been happy with t...

How about the early to mid 60's Radio Shack catalogs? Macintosh, AR, Scott, Gerrard, etc., were all in their at one tine or another. Hard to believe you could buy Macintosh electronics, AR speakers, and a Gerrard 301 all from Radio Shack. Far cry ...
Curious .. What is the compared price of your tt vs spkrs
I'm guesstimating that if we include the phono preamp, my entire TT setup is pretty much what my speakers with speakers cables are priced at assuming MSRP. Bless the Maker that I paid nowhere near MSRP.

My experience is that vintage equipment varies a great deal. For the most part, 40 to 50 year old turntables are rarely competitive, but there are some exceptions. 40-50 year old arms are almost always not with the postage to mail it to you, and f...

Oregonpapa,I appreciate your suggestion- I think I do have an adequate turntable/arm/cartridge setup. I do go to garage sales, used record stores and thrift shops. IMO, used record stores are the worst because they are inordinately pricey. I've do...
Seems I'm really done!
Davidpritchard said- "I hope you will trial the Synergistic Research Black fuse in your Bricasti DAC and a Synergistic Research A/C wall outlet."My M1 has a circuit breaker, and I'm already running a good outlet. FWIW, I did a software update on m...

Thank you for the multitude of suggestion- any difference what format I do downloads? A friend strongly suggested WAV. I am using a MacBook Pro into a Bricasti M1

I'm sitting in a very comfortable chair, listening to an LP though my system, and for the life of me there truly is nothing o would change. I've got full and broad frequency response, nuance, image specificity, depth and width, dynamics. There tru...
Buying Without Audition
You got to hear speakers! the only speakers I ever bought without audition was a $50 a pair of speakers that I bought for a basement workout room. No matter what you've read, remember, think ice cream shop. Lots of different flavors. Not everyone ...
Negotiating when buying demo and used speakers from a dealer
Of course negotiate. Last year I bought a pair of demo speakers from an authorized dealer at a substantial discount off of list price. Literally, over $8000 under list price. Make an offer and the worst the seller can say is no-

Electrical issues with Philips GA 212 Electronic
back in the day i wanted this TT so very much. When I was about 22 I had a chance to buy one for $25 but it got snapped up before I decided to buy it.I eventually bought one about 15 years ago. By then I already had an LP12, and came away from the...
ASSEMBLED IN CHINA
If a company selling a $5000 item thinks that the 2 way shipping to and from China will save $10 in total product cost to the manufacturer, that's the way it will be done.
