Which Hegel Amp with LRS+
I got my LRS+ in 2 days of ordering from Shelley's Stereo in Woodside, CA. Another person that I am DM'ing with also got his within a week from a Sacramento dealer. Can get lucky with the order of an LRS+.
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000
How far apart do you keep the NS5000? I have them only 6-feet apart and sit about 8-9 feet away. The room has 25-foot ceilings and a lot of open space on both sides.
Amp and Preamp recommendations for Yamaha NS5000
I think the KRELL is a little less warm than the PASS. It is incredibly smooth and such a relaxing listen. What I describe is not my usual preference, but that KRELL is such a great listen. If the amp was not so big, I would not even hesitate in b...
Which Hegel Amp with LRS+
My responses were not about getting a CODA amp or Peachtree amp. It was how my amps sounded at specific power levels with the LRS+. My conclusion was the more power (or current) the better the sound. So, in the Hegel lineup I would go for the 590.

You should try the KRELL Duo XD lineup on the NS5000, even the k-300i integrated (also XD) would work. It is buttery smooth and slightly warm. I was going to move my CODA #16 to the Livingroom to setup with the NS5000. However, I have no time and ...
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs)
There are some great dealers in the LA area. One year I was at the LA show and had a big room with KEF Blade 1 (my fav) and Hegel monos basically all to myself. The lady in charge played over an hour of music on the Blades.

Now that I have heard the LRS+ with my very powerful CODA #16 and KC62 sub. I recommend as much power for the LRS+. The CODA #16 is great with the LRS+.

That will give me a reason to go to the LA show. I used to go to all the shows, but I am now almost done shopping for gear so the desire to see new gear is not so great.  Just need a DAC and amp.
Is it still worth buying a Lumin x1 in 2023?
When it comes to DACs the term better is really subjective. The differences between similar designed DACs is not that great to my ears. Streamers on the other hand (especially optical) seemed to have a bigger difference to me. The X1 at $6K is a ...
Which Hegel Amp with LRS+
For the last 2 weeks, I put a 200-watt modded Peachtree GAN1 amp on the LRS+ and it was more than enough for my small room. Evern in a mid-size room the 200 watts would be enough. Yesterday, I put my CODA #16 on the LRS+. It is ’only’ 150 watts b...
Is it still worth buying a Lumin x1 in 2023?
The rep from Lumin on Audioshark web site posted to me that the X1 will be the flagship for a while longer. Of course, if he said otherwise, people would wait. This was told to me about 3 months ago.

@lancelock My dealer says he’s bringing the AGD Gran Vivace over for a listen so we will see how it stacks up to the Coda. Price wise it’s more apples to apples. Did you ever do the comparison of the Gran Vivace to the CODA #16? I also own th...
Is it still worth buying a Lumin x1 in 2023?
I just traded in my Lumin X1 for some speakers. However, I did this because I got a sonically better streamer, Playback Designs Streamer-IF, than the one on the X1 and I am looking for an FPGA DAC (Playback Designs). The streamer on the X1 is exc...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
I lucked out and managed to grab my Benchmark LA4 preamp before the CVS drugstore where it was dropped off closed. A total mess-up on UPS delivery. I now have the CODA #16 | LRS+ | KC62 sub setup and the bottom-end is now present. It is a nice co...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
@arafiq Unfortunately, I have not been able to hear the LRS+ at its best. I think I need a sub and I cannot use a sub easily without my Benchmark LA4 preamp. I sent the preamp in for repairs, and it was found to be working fine. So, when the unit ...
