Upgrade Bryston 4BSST2 to 4BSST3 or two 7BSST3s The Cubed is supposed to be warmer and a bit quieter than the SST2. I think the biggest benefit you would get would be to run monos close to the speakers and then use very long XLR’s from the BP-26 to the monos. You have very long speaker wire whi...
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp I am using the CODA #8 and CODA 07x preamp with my Thiel CS3.7. It is an very satisfying sound. IT has good detail, lots of power for my speakers, and non-fatiguing. I did hear some increased clarity and resolution when I recently heard the CODA 0...
Best Integrated that you've heard under $5k I should have added the CODA CSiB integrated that I sold and bought the CODA separates. The CSiB is an excellent sounding piece. The KRELL K-300i I linked above is smoother (Class A first 90 watts) and is being compared favorably to $13450 Boulder ...
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp Benchmark told me that the AHB2 would work on my hard to drive speakers. they do work, officially in stereo mode (not officially on mono). However, working and being the very best is another matter. The AHB2 are not the best option on 2 Ohm speake...
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp I have an all Benchmark stack in my living room (with KEF LS50) and that is my favorite gear, DAC3B | LA4 | AHB2 x 2. I even owned the HPA4 before I sold it for a profit. So some poplar gear. However, I do not think the AHB2 would work as well wit...

Recommendation for a highly resolving amp I should add that I inserted a new acoustic panel to cover my CD rack and also moved the audio rack further away from the speaker. The audio rack is on the side wall of this very small room. When I did this my 'old' Convolution filter no longer sou...
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp Your equipment is great. It’s the room that is the problem. Take your gear to your friend’s room and then see how it sounds. Or, spend and spend on equipment to no avail. Sounds about right to me. The Convolution stuff I mentioned cost me $750...
Latest D'Agostino monoblock amps??? " We can do this better because it measures better, and it does this better. It was more about technology than listening. But at D'Agostino, we listen a lot. Listening is the most important thing, not how it measures.""When I was at a demo about ...
DAC Shootout Starts This Weekend @verdantaudio Here is a great review of the Halo May vs the Musetec. I have been told that the Musetec is also an incredible DAC. Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired | Audiogon Discussion Forum
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp @chungjh If I am not mistaken. You have big speakers in a small room. I believe I recommended in the past you use either acoustic paneling and /or contact Mitch Barnett at https://accuratesound.ca to have him measure your room remotely and then h...
Recommended streamers/servers? All Streamers do the same damn thing. What’s key is the DAC that the Streamer is connected to. Your Internet Service Provider and the downlink speed is more critical. Don’t get me started on the Fibre Optic Crowd (unless you have 100’s of feet to ...
Recommendation for a highly resolving amp @chungjh Are you streaming with Fibre into your Lumin X1. If not that would be the first thing I would do. Pretty simple and cheap to set this up with a Network switch that has Fibre outputs. This could make a big difference depending on the quali...
Bryston ??? @jiffg If you contacted Bryston USA then that could be the cause of the delayed response. I believe that is a single person. If you contacted Bryston in Canada then I am surprised it took more than a day to get a response. The now CEO of Bryston pe...
Bought mono blocks, now spkr cables too long Send it to the cable maker and get it chopped up. I did that long ago with some AudioQuest Volcano cable. A 12 foot cable was chopped into four 3 foot lengths. I was even able to sell them later to TMR.com when I no longer needed them. |
