Lightweight tablet suggestions
Good suggestion on the iPad Mini.  I've always been put off by Steve Jobs/Apple but as a remote control, it will give me a chance to see what I've been missing.  Who knows, maybe I'll be a convert!  I'll check it out.  I'll never forget an early i...
Lightweight tablet suggestions
I would suggest going to the gym.😉 I agree, but who wants to go to the gym when I can sit in my recliner and listen to music. 😉
High Quality dac with network streamer saves $1,000s
Well, okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit. :>)  The bass is certainly there as well as the smoothness of analog with plenty of detail.  I like the Cary sound.
High Quality dac with network streamer saves $1,000s
@desferousThe Cary DMS-700 just got a nice review from HiFi+. What is the Cary house sound? When describing the Cary house sound, think analog with slam. Just noticed this on twitter from @caryaudio: Eric Neff from @hifiplusmag wrote an amaz...
High Quality dac with network streamer saves $1,000s
More congrats on your one box DAC/streamer!As my components aged or failed over the years, I decided to try streaming.  I initially bought the Lindemann Limetree bridge for my old Theta DAC and then later decided that I liked streaming, but I want...
Advice on a streamer
Any recommendation on software for ripping the CD's? I used dbpoweramp from recommendations here.  Easy to use and I think a 21 day free trial.  I ripped over 400 cd's in less than a week in my spare time.
Help - Line 2 on the blink
I have a line 2 also but cannot help you. My suggestion is to call or email the guys at www.partsconnexion.com with your problem. They service Sonic Frontiers and may be able to help. If necessary you can ship it to them for repair at a very reaso...
who repairs sonic frontiers?
I just had my Line 2 serviced. Sonic Frontiers (Audiostream) picks up the units across the border and brings them into Canada. No problems. Took about 3 weeks total -- 1 week shipping to NY, 1 week servicing, 1 week return. Shipping was $30 each w...
Anthem Pre 2L tube rolling question
I used to own the Pre2L and have upgraded to the Sonic Frontiers Line 2 preamp. It is the rear tubes that have the greatest effect on the sound. This was conveyed to me by Kevin Deal (where I bought the Pre2L and an Anthem/Sonic Frontiers dealer) ...
Best Remote $1,250 used preamp?
As Muralman1 stated, "tubes are important" and can make or break a preamp (or amp). Maybe that is where we differed on our judgment of the SF Line series preamps. I would also agree that the Line 2 sounds dry in the mids when using stock Sovtek 69...
Best Remote $1,250 used preamp?
I'll just chime in and say that my system apparently differs from the above post as it was a major upgrade going from the Pass Aleph P to the SF Line 2. I found the Pass Aleph P to be very detailed but dry in the midrange. I am biamping Legacy Foc...
Tube Recommendation for Anthem Integrated 2
I used to have the Anthem Pre2L preamp. I tried Siemans 7308's per Kevin Deal's recommendation. I then tried Amperex 7308's due to alot of recomendations here and over at the audioasylum. I prefered the Siemans over the Amperex for the Pre2L. The ...
Has anyone listened to Legacy speakers?
I believe the Hale Transcendence 8 lists for $9790, almost twice the Focus. Kind of like saying: yeah, I owned a Toyota Camry. It was OK. Replaced with a BMW 745i, huge improvement!
Has anyone listened to Legacy speakers?
As Lak said early on, you will hear different opinions on Legacy. I believe they have become very controversial due to their claims in their ads and brochure. I had owned the Classic for a year then upgraded to Focus the last 2 years, after auditi...
Bass Eq, LEGACY STEP ONE
I have been using the Legacy Step One for about a year now. I had previously purchased the Legacy Classic speakers then upgraded to the Focus. The Focus is much richer sounding through the mid-range and bass frequencies which then caused room-boom...
