Please suggest serene, restful jazz recordings oops just noticed your "no vocals" request
Please suggest serene, restful jazz recordings How about Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Wave" or "Stoneflower".Not exactly jazz per say, but pretty inviting like walking into a rainforest garden. On that note, Michael Frank's "Tiger in the Rain", Joe Sample's "Carmel" John Klemmer's "Touch" Miles Dav...
bands you truly miss AudiofeilYou got it right.
How to evaluate preamps? I have a modded passive "pre".I have tried just for kicks on occasion, connecting my Benz phono pre unit directly into my amp, effectively running the amp full out with no volume control. Since I do this with a pair of very inefficient loudspeaker...
Walkers SST silver treatment I'm told that if the silver tarnishes it is still just as conductive and sonically should remain the same improved sound... I have used it and it does show an improvement.
bands you truly miss CSNYThe old Genesis 1977, after Steve Hackett left it was all over. The PoliceWhen Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman left Yes in 1979.
dissapointing audiophile recording Anyone remember those late 70's direct-to-disc japanese recordings of 10 minutes of drum solo?Had one, played it once, that was that, don't remember what happened to it.

What cassettes do peaple like these days .... I always liked the best Denon tapes, I just found a box of Nak high bias tapes sealed for surprizingly not too much money.. sometimes these Nak tapes are pretty over priced. Have yet to try them out yet.
whats the best bob marley LP "Babylon by Bus" is very heavy on bass/drums and vocals, the keys and some guitars are sometimes a bit buried.I would vote for the best sounding LPs to be "Kaya", "Survival", "Uprising" in that order. "Exodus" has perhaps more legendary material.
The sealed LP... what is the point? A problem I've had in purchasing still sealed records say, 20 or more years old is that when you open them, clean them, put them on the turntable and drop the needle you suddenly discover they are badly WARPED.Although this does not happen with MF...
Help with Jazz BeBop Get him one of the last Michael Brecker recordings (like "1 block from the edge"); very intelligent, mature compositions, arrangements. Now that Michael is gone, all the more meaningful (how else to say it?)
music these days.... It is my opinion that young people today live in a state of abject artistic poverty. At least in my day some pop 'artists' ATTEMPTED to explore, aspire, push creative limits; porgressive bands like Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, Ge... |
