"Classic Yes" album question...
Rebbi:If you have the U.S. pressing, then yes, it's harsh and full of distortion. IF you can find a U.K. pressing on the original "plum" label U.K. atlantic, That is the pressing to get. Treble is now in balance with everything else, and overloade...
Less noise during intense listening sessions.

P.S. "FM" opened for Rush during a tour, I think in 1980 (?) and I missed it.. I would have gone only to see "FM"
FM Headroom Direct to disc recording
Ghostrider.. hmmm not sure what you have there. Maybe there was a later reissue on vinyl? but Direct to Disk items were never reissued.. because they were direct to disk no tape exists. But Sheffield I think made tapes of theirs. ??
Anyone Have A Few Queen UK 1970's 1st Pressings??
You'll just have to keep searching on ebay, and buy from a seller in the UK. Shipping will not be cheap. You'll just have to keep an eye out, and over time, the ones you want will pop up. That's how I've done it. But the condition will be a crap s...

FM Headroom Direct to disc recording
I have had this recording from the beginning.. 1979 or so. I've had two copies now. I'm not sure how you have a "passport" or "Labyrinth" label, I've never heard of this recording on those labels...It should read "FM direct to disk" and "Limited E...
Miles Davis, the Cuisinart and other Hi-Fi Horrors
Just be glad you don't own Parrots...TRY to listen to something you really like without one of them making a "comment" (a.k.a. a loud 'scream') about the music.
Classical Music on the Radio
Man, one thing I really miss about moving to Georgia from NJ: WQXR. One good reason to own a Magnum Dynalab Etude: WQXR.a real HI FI radio station.
Cardas Hexlink 5 series any good?
Cardas Hexlink 5: VERY goodJust not the current 'fashion'
Worth refurbishing an old Nitty Gritty 1.0?
There was a 'refurb' kit of sorts you used to be able to buy from I think musicdirect of chicago... My center spindle broke off and I had to replace it, which if you follow the directions of the kit, works pretty well. I've had no problems since a...
The "charactor" of pure Class A?
Phasecorrect:Yes many A/B amps still operate in class A up to the first 1 to 3 watts, and if you've ever watched an amplifier with power meters while the music plays you are usually amazed at how much of the time the meter hangs around 1 to 5 or s...
What is meant by IMPORT?
Audiofeil:One u.s. pressing that I think is exceptional is the 1st Eagles album on asylum, which I had. Great sound! That copy is really beat up now, bought it when I was 16. Got alot of play on my Garrard/shure outfit.I have had several copies of...
