The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! @johnah5 , Teajay, do you know its output into 4 ohms? I can’t find it in the specs on the Coda site. I must say I’m tempted, not that I need another amp!

Does a turntable mat make any difference? The Enlightenment might be out of fashion but empiricism still works. See for yourself—or rather, hear.
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers @badgerdms , glad it’s working out for you. I think it is terrific, the only one I’ve found that doesn’t affect tonal balance and the energy of the recording. It seems merely to dissipate some slight, spurious resonance or chatter, bringing notes ...
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers Beware the unabashed totalizers, who universalize their experience and speak in axioms and absolutes.
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers On both my Technics SP10R and Nantais Ref II Lenco, after trying (and still owning) myriad weights and clamps, including the HRS, I found the Origin Live Gravity One to sound the best. It is also the lightest.
Anyone with Aric Audio experience? Not sure why this thread devolved into the tired turf war between tubes and SS. Both can be great sounding; both can need repair: such is life. And now back to the OP’s question. Nearly a year ago, I bought one of Aric’s Transcend Push-Pull amps ...

What are the audio differences you hear with turntable Mats. The BA is a good, neutral-sounding mat, the best I’ve found for my Technics and I’ve tried an embarrassing number.
klipsch cornwall iv upgraded crossovers @perkadin , wow, that's one mighty high horse you trot around on. Prove it to you? You've got to be kidding me. I've already proven it to myself. I have no interest in proving anything to you. The OP asked for the experiences of people who tried ...
klipsch cornwall iv upgraded crossovers Klipsch used cheap parts in the xover and the binding posts are a joke. Face it, most of their client base is not into truly high-end audio, so why spend on ultra-premium parts? It would make no business sense. Subbing in great parts makes these g...
Accuphase Bookshelf Speaker Pairing recommend Used Merlin TSM, preferably a later model. Sealed box makes them easy to locate near a wall and integrate with a little sub if you choose. I run an SVS 3000 micro with mine in a large room with great results. I bought a pair of the little Harbeths...
LPs pressed in Czech Republic I received the new Kurt Rosenwinkel LP the other day. It was recorded at the Village Vanguard in NYC, released on Heartcore records out of Berlin, and shipped from Poland, where it was probably pressed. It sounds fantastic.
Discuss The Viv Lab Rigid Arm If distortion be the food of vinyl, play on!
Higher-End Class A/B vs. Class A Integrateds As others have said, try the different topologies and settle on what suits you. It’s really the only path to satisfaction. I happen to consistently prefer class A, but I would never say it’s categorically better. |
