Feel Silly Asking This Question Alignment Parameters
@rauliruegas : Good advice, for sure, to get a universal alignment protractor if you’ll be changing out arms. Just moments ago, in fact, I took delivery of a new SmartTractor. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve always had a preference for dedicated arc p...

Step Up Transformers….Are they Worth the Trouble?
@mulveling : I certainly respect your knowledge and your ears, and those of Kevin Hayes, too, having been a VAC man myself for a long time. But I have to disagree about the LL1931Ag. I recently picked up a last-gen K&K Maxxed Out with the silv...
Audiomods Is A Great Company
Great question, couldn’t tell you. All I can offer is experience.
Audiomods Is A Great Company
@whart : Hey pal! Always good when you chime in!
Audiomods Is A Great Company
@mijostyn : yeah, that’s the idea: weigh it all first, including your chosen top plate. They work best near the upper limit of the weight range, like within 10 lbs or so. M-K will do custom ranges for surprisingly little up-charge. Steve might say...

@pindac : very best wishes to you.
Step Up Transformers….Are they Worth the Trouble?
@lalitk, sure thing, you’re quite welcome. If you get it in and want to talk about anything, just PM me.
Step Up Transformers….Are they Worth the Trouble?
My experience is with the H3000 mk2, so it might be of marginal interest, although my understanding is that the H6500 uses a similar circuit, SUTs, and power supply. I find the Allnic to provide deeply satisfying inner detail and harmonic structur...

John Mayall has passed away
Saw him a couple years ago, first time since the early 70s. Carolyne Wonderland was the star of the show but John was still bringing it. RIP to an important elder.
Tube or solid state phono stage?
Personally, I’ve never had a solid state phono stage that satisfied me. But admittedly, I have not tried many: a 2-box Trichord Delphini 25 years ago, which was left in the dust by a succession of tube phonos; and recently, a MoFi MasterPhono boug...
