You mean someone buys this stuff? When not spinning your vinyl you can use it serve the guests munchies like a conventional "lazy susan." Win win.
Help! Cure for transformer hum? You can possibly find an old PS Audio "Humbuster" someplace. I employ one when needed...works great.
So how can a great system solve less than great recordings To help old Millercarbonfootprint understand my point, I think a great system helps everything you run through it...if a recording is simply poorly done, it still is given its best shot and being made aware of the issues with a recording is an imp...
Fraud and scam, how many of you are victims? Years ago somebody paid me for a couple of guitars selling on Ebay with Postal Service money orders...seemed a little weird as they wanted to overpay me...I held onto the guitars until I was sure the checks cleared which they initially seemed to.....
Specifications VS Sound Quality Specs are great for those unsure of their own ears. Do you want the micro biological description of the food you plan to eat? Maybe you do...
So how can a great system solve less than great recordings A great system should naturally make everything sound a little better or a lot better...sort of the point.
How much reality do you really need? Recently Lewis Hamilton seems to be needing more horsepower. We'll see how that works out.I like the sound of rooms along with whatever my hifi is spewing out, and was worried my newly acquired house was gonna be way too live in the high ceilinged...
phase linear 500 watt per chanell amp You can get a new QSC GX3 (part of their least costly line...A/B power grunt for days, XLR, TRS balanced, and RCA single ended inputs, Speakon and binding post speaker outs, built-in sub crossover) for a couple hundred bucks that is far better per...
Springsteen and Clapton on their favorite, heh, band. In my mid teens I was a huge Dylan fan and saw a "Dylan and The Hawks" (the Band without Levon Helm for that tour anyway) show in Honolulu in 1966...whew...it was the first time anybody had played that arena (called the Honolulu International Cent...
Beginner looking for guidance into tube sound. Jolida/Black Ice are great amps...I used a Jolida 502P for years. Now I use a Freya (original version) and a Dennis Had SEP tube amp and that combo is astonishing, although it ties you to efficient speakers which for me is fine.
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)? I use a pair of subs with my main stereo pile (RELs bought used in great shape...inexpensive...I now own 3 of them) and this does help with the dreaded standing wave issues, but I also experienced a huge improvement when I used just one sub. Note ...
Older vs. newer REL subs A Goodwin's High End sales guy recently told me he thought the series RELs I own were excellent...but then, what does he know? I haven't compared them to new ones of course, but if they explode I just might.
Older vs. newer REL subs Again, my REL subs have been in fairly constant use and haven't rattled apart at all...I've taken them apart and would notice anything rattling.
Older vs. newer REL subs There's a Q150e like the one I own (and the other one I just bought) on Ebay currently...I can enthusiastically recommend it. (no connection to seller, I simply noticed it)
Older vs. newer REL subs Neither my original Q150e or the Q108MK2 have managed to "shake themselves apart" and are unlikely to do so since I check and tighten the screws once in a while...highly recommended. It’s more likely some cap will get funky or something, but these... |
