Which adcom sounds best? Adcom is a great bargain brand and I think was always well made...I've owned a couple of 535s (one new back in the day, others used for studio monitors) and some nice preamps, and now use a 5300 Mosfet for deck speakers and as a backup amp...sound...

i hear sim audio amps are unreliable Elizabeth is free to be whatever gender she/he wants to be.
high power tube amps vs ss I've owned a LOT of tube guitar amps and a couple of SS and hybrids...tube amps are simply snappier and make people happier. I do use SS bass amps though, as you need extreme power for that. Same with tube hifi amps...60 watts per side with 90db s...
Better sounding after 1 hour Again, your car will run better if you leave it running all the time...it will. Hot water...leave the water running and it's always hot AND fresher...sleep with your daytime clothes on...leave the refrigerator door open to cool the house and make ...
Why do some audiophiles beat up McIntosh? The blue VU meters...what about that? Nobody does meters like those guys.
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Downunder...why the hostility? Why so sensitive? Did you give too much of your loading ramp earnings to Dan D'Agostino? Why so much weirdly obsessive and clearly retentive sexually pithy retorts? Listen...many insecure people get testy when confus...
Need a very neutral interconnect- A Jelco tonearm din/rca cable for my Akito made of Mogami Neglex 2534...in pink! (Ebay)
Need a very neutral interconnect- Yeah...so I learned when taking an easy road to a pair of Mogami 3 foot XLR cables from Guitar Center...lasted exactly one day and back they went, replaced by AQ XLR Diamondnbacks that sound sweet. Again, the Mogami Jelco din thing works fine.
What's with 4 ohm speakers? I read a review of my 8 ohm speakers and it noted a drop to 3.something ohms here and there. Changed to the (tube) amp's 4 ohm output and huzzah...all better. Luckily there is plenty of info out there to make sure you don't mis-match yer stuff, al...
Why do some audiophiles beat up McIntosh? It's about vibe and feel...some Harleys are retro-beautiful but I don't like the riding style (tailbone sitting) personally, but so what? I'm sure people think my Bonneville is lame...but I love it. McIntosh has had GREAT reviews of some tube amps...
Which REL sub, R528 or B2 I just made a new REL cable from some Canare "star quad" stuff originally for no reason other than the Canare looks better (black mesh covered). Surprise surprise...I thought my old simple cable (some generic 4 conductor OFC my local audio joint g...
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge The performance of the cartridge, however great or not so great, has little to do with the humor and irony of the Fremer review of it and the aforementioned D'Agostino silliness...the fact that it's all taken to be very unfunny is also pretty funn...
Fremer's review of the Anna cartridge Downunder...You clearly DO care what I think, and that's sweet. If you spend $42,000 on amps you have every right to be testy when a forum has fun with 'em. Stand by your Dan! (this comment has been deemed 100% factual)
Better sounding after 1 hour My tube amp (and everything else) are on initially for background music so it's generally plenty warmed up for active listening. Leaving SS stuff on all the time is utterly wasteful and to admit doing that these days is kinda lame. |
