Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
I don't think there is much or any problem. Obsession with cable vibration is silly, but if it sells product and allows people to worry about vibration ("Damnit Marge, it's EVERYWHERE!") instead of causing trouble elsewhere, I say have at it.
Best Tube Amp for B&W Bookshelf
For that money you could buy an excellent Jolida integrated (actually, you could buy 2 of them), including the premium parts new one ("Fusion" 3502S) that accepts more tubes than previously (a switch is now provided for your Tube Rolling entertain...
Acurus A150 v. Bryston 4b
I just was poking around on Ebay and the first QSC GX3 (just like mine!) amp shown has the "Made in China" label visible, but weirdly many of the other GX amps either don’t show the back of the amp or the sticker is missing…conspiracy? Consumer fr...
Acurus A150 v. Bryston 4b
On the back of my QSC GX3 (which I actually DO still have) is a clear little sticker showing the wattage, barcode, mentions Costa Mesa, and also says Made in China. The amp you show in the pic is a GX7 from the QSC site "images" and made me wonder...
Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
Cable vibration is going to happen even if you put them on little stands (internal vibration? really?), and it is a part of Audio Mysticism to think vibrating cables have any effect on the sound of things (seriously…give it some thought) especiall...

I’ve owned a QSC GX3 for a few years and sometimes use it on pro audio gigs, and it’s a great sounding and really well designed friggin’ amp. It’s a bargain certainly and a real workhorse built like a tank, but for me its fan noise is way too loud...
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
When SOTA puts a Rega arm on their tables do they make it VTA adjustable? I assume not as I've looked at their site…but still wonder as the lack of VTA keeps me from Rega, and shims seem lame.
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
Back to my previous query, I’m still thinking about that Pro-Ject "The Classic" table as I can change the cart to something I like (for example, Needle Doc gives you 50 bucks off if you want to bag the Silver thing), it has a lid (unlike the Pro-J...
Do equipment stands have an impact on electronics?
Not sure if any of these extremely wise and well written posts pointed this out (although there are far too many to actually compel me to read them), but one of the most obvious effects of stands is the fact that without them all your gear would b...

As a musician for about 5 decades, I've noticed I don't make mistakes…they're more like dissonant musical choices.
Turntables hit the mainstream
I'm a wristwatch geek and am hoping Shinola starts building mechanical watches as quartz seems just too easy and for watch snobs it just won't do…nice designs, but they can get automatic or wind up movements from Selitta or somebody and there ya go.
Recommendation for Tonearm Cable
My Linn Akito needed a din to RCA cable a while back and I bought a Jelco branded Mogami wire cable with gold plated connectors…the Mogami is hot pink (sort of, but still)…any audible turntable hum from various dimmers went completely away (yeah y...
Tube Physics Question
I've been using a factory upgraded Jolida 502p for a few years now and KT120s sounded great and really lasted in that thing. Don't get the distortion issue at all as the 120s were really clean and powerful sounding until I wore them out (took a lo...
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
I've been looking at the Pro-Ject "The Classic" (among other tables) as a replacement for my "it's gonna die someday" trusty Linn Basic/Akito rig. Anybody buy one of these yet? Reviews are pretty good and they got some Euro award…comes with a silv...
