Ayone know the wattage used at a Rock concert?
I could (and sometimes did) hook my trust A7s to my KLH Model 20 (the one without the tuner) compact system that had a mighty 24 watts or so per side, and it sounded great. For years we used a biamp thing made by Kustom (a non tuck and roll item) ...

Hey Grandma.
Ayone know the wattage used at a Rock concert?
In the late 60s it was fashionable to use a pile of Altec A7s driven by whatever…Altec amps maybe, Macs…and the sound was friendly and sort of warm. (My bands in the early 70s to mid 80s dragged a pair of A7s around, albeit with heavy duty bass dr...

A Grape note…I saw them in 1967 as the headliner over Hendrix and Tim Buckley…man…Moby Grape were (at that show anyway) one of the most powerful, kick ass and take no prisoners bands I've ever seen…friggin' fabulous as a kind of Eagles on Steroids...
Phono cable recommendations - high performance good value cable
My table cable tale: The original DIN plug cable on my "vintage" Linn Basik/Akito table had rat bites on it when I bought it a few years ago…really…the cable still worked, but man. So in a quest for a replacement I went to my local "audio salons" ...
Brightest but shortest artistic bursts in the sky
After her debut, Ricky Lee Jones came up with, among many other things, "Pop Pop," an astonishing album with Robben Ford on classical guitar and Charlie Haden on bass, "Flying Cowboys," "Traffic From Paradise," "Pirates,"…and having seen her live ...
12AT nos , flash at start ?
I have a couple of sets of NOS Mullards and a large part of why I like them is the flashing on startup…they sound great also, but the flash is simply a wonderful thing. Gold Pin 6201s…el flasho mundo.
List of artists that have never lost quality throughout entire career
Just saw Emo Phillips on a Showtime thing…I had no idea he was still around, and hilarious.
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
In a nutshell, everyone hears, or perceives, somewhat differently.

Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I simply noted that HAD said something about fuses in a youtube thing so I could garner more support for my opinions about fuses…and why shouldn't I? Plus, it's fun to watch geoffkait paint himself into corners. I already have a nice sounding push...

Geoffkait…if you read my post you should be able to see I DO know something about useless tweaks. There are tiny "transducers" people use that appear to be metal JuJuBees that are also laughable, and misuse the term "transducer," so beware of thos...
Best and Worst Rock Concert Moments
My band in 1969 Honolulu had great management and we were in the orchestra pit right in front of the band for a Hendrix show on a Friday night (Waikiki Shell venue…sort of a Hawaii Hollywood Bowl)…he did part of a set and left the stage until they...

Mpingo discs are ridiculous and utterly useless, except as coasters maybe if they're large enough. I can leave 4 acoustic guitars out (along with a piano that's always there) in my listening room and my rig remains unaffected, although if loud eno...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I can only assume that high efficiency and stable impedance that doesn't go too low could be the key. Also he's improved these things over time supposedly, and I'm in no hurry so I'll continue my research.
