Disappointed w/ Klipsch Heresy III. Now what?
With my listening room I'd have to build a set of moveable corners…The Heresy IIIs I listened to recently were powered by a cool little SS Luxman M-200 25 watt per side (did not know that amp existed, but then I don't get out much) amp that sounde...
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
It's ironic that after crushing several snakes and boiling them to extract oil, I've gelatinized it into damping pucks. Ironic. Makes a great dessert topping also. Win win.

Note that if you play an instrument like a guitar (uke, mandolin, violin) you should play while standing on some sort of spikes unless you are so fat you can absorb the extraneous sound before it goes into the floor.
Restocking Fees, 30-Day Free Trials
I've been to AV Therapy (recently) and yeah…they're pretty cool, and do support music here and there…they provide a little discount, no tax, etc. They have a LOT of stuff crammed into that place. I like it.
Disappointed w/ Klipsch Heresy III. Now what?
I recently heard a pair of Heresys at a shop and thought they sounded great but did pull them away from the corners. I don't need no corners! I own a couple of REL subs so the upper bass reinforcement provided by corner placement isn't needed. I'd...
Disappointed w/ Klipsch Heresy III. Now what?
Modern horn loaded drivers have "phase plugs" that mostly obviate the "narrow dispersion window" issues of older horn designs, so don't let that worry you…if anything you might have a bit less room reflection from horns.

"Audiophile" dealers don't care about promoting their businesses beyond whatever customers they currently have. The only ones left rely on the 'phile community and have seemingly zero interest in expanding by promotion of any kind I can see, or re...
Need a "PHYSICALLY" smaller and lighter amp to replace my BAT VK-200 at 70lbs
My Dennis Had "Inspire Fire Bottle HO" weighs 15 lbs.
To Float or not to Float...
I have so many things plugged into my system I'm amazed at how utterly quiet it is. There are bespoke DC buzz killing power supplies on the DAC and phono preamp, a PS Audio Humbuster III for the tube and SS amps, no ground pin was provided for the...
Why is good, deep bass so difficult? - Myths and their Busters
Soundsrealaudio…I actually considered the RMAF this year since I haven't been to one of those things since around 1987 (NYC Stereophile show). Hmmm…also, although I am very kind at all times (well…sometimes I take a break from extreme kindness to ...
Why is good, deep bass so difficult? - Myths and their Busters
I think there is a lot of pretentious blather around this subject…any good main speakers in a normal room (furniture, books, things people simply own) should sound great if pointed at you properly, which requires some moving of the things away fro...
Not Enough Options for Auditioning Speakers
Clearly we need a Tupperware/Mary Kay-like audio business. Drive around in a van and provide an in-home audition party for the audio geek community…"So Clem, these Spendors look GREAT with your stuffed owl collection…let's turn these babies UP. No...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
A foil hat works also (bend it around you ears…there ya go), and it has the added benefit of stopping those crazy messages from space: "geoffkait…bags of pebbles…follow the rubber line…turn the fuse around…"
Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses?
Fuse resolution…yeah man...it's also important to remember to cover the door knobs in your home to reduce sonic reflections. They're omnidirectional! In fact, having been recently inspired by a 3 thousand dollar Mook record clamp (worth it man…rea...
Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses?
To say amp designers are unaware of "special" fuses and thus don't use them assumes a lot, and is obvious nonsense. Luckily, most aren't mules being led anywhere (or sheep being driven somewhere), and although faith based tweaks and their imagined...
