Holiday Habits and Pleasures I have to check out the Leon Redbone album as I didn't know it existed. And thanks to the Jewish songwriters for the great xmas songs, ditto the holiday movies. I can tolerate solo acoustic guitar holiday stuff but not much else...Vince Guaraldi i...
Most recent speaker you audited in room and returned? Why did you return it? Having enjoyed Klipsch Heresy IIIs for a while I had to try the IVs. The mids in the IVs (after plenty of break-in) had a peaky upper mid issue so off they went. Tried a pair of Sonist speakers that just paled when compared to the superb Silverlin...
Volume Problem Trouble Shooting Ideas? Yeah...saw one with the Western Electric tubes and thought...hmmm...love to hear it...pricey but way cool.
Any other Pipe And Slippers Audiophiles out there? Good Irish whiskey, craft beer, excellent local weed, crocs. A mild gummy here and there...I do have a tux, but I don't want my wife to call the authorities and have me committed...I hate that...don't you?
Are you on or off? What say you? I’m VERY happy with my gear heap, but is buying some new thing from time to time really a merry-go-round? It might just be FUN. I’m waiting on a Schiit Urd cd player I don’t need, but still...I bet it’s going to be fun. Besides, who cares? If you’...
Volume Problem Trouble Shooting Ideas? I've had a Had "Firebottle" HO (high output...maybe 12 or so massive watts with my fave output tubes) for six or seven years and have used it (mostly) with a pair of very efficient Heresy IIIs. Not interested in any amp with less power really exce...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system Relentless fragile egos around here...note to self: I really have to try to be more gentle. The Max I have is utterly quiet, but Schiit warns about locating these things near gear with transformers (I worried about that as I have a Bryston Bit-15 ...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system There is simply nothing made anywhere from pro audio or home audio that comes close to ease of tonal tweaking provided by the excellently designed Max...a great item that's I've used for far more than 20 minutes (a few months actually), and it's p...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system Tlcocks...sorry to ruffle your feathers but you're simply wrong. Nuff said.
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system More extreme level adjustments don't necessarily mean "better"...nonsense...again, the Max is designed and built to a specific standard and it functions perfectly as designed. Especially with Chicken Head knobs.
She loves me she loves me not! My Heresy IIIs sound fine with grills, better without...the magnetically attached grills are very easy to remove, tuck away next to the gear rack, and I put 'em back on every night to keep dust off the drivers...is this sort of thing really diffi...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system The Max is a very well designed and executed piece of gear that they could charge more for I suppose...Schiit is often disregarded for being inexpensive, although my experience with the original Loki and their small headphone amps made me a believ...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system I've been using the Max between the preamp and power amp and having bypassed it by simply unhooking it to see if it had any impact on the signal, I determined that it doesn't degrade anything. It's a great sounding piece of gear, works beautifully...
"I'm a believer" I may not want to know the answer, but why one sock?
Subwoofer Basics Help Just get a couple of used RELs for cheap...that's what I've done and they work perfectly. |
