Is toeing speakers a bad idea? Toe in benefits are in the ears of the beholder, and ONLY in the ears of the beholder. There is no sound in a forum response.
Little help with REL subwoofers, please? I use 2 "Q" series RELs in my main system...a Q150E and a Q108MK2. Each cost around 200 bucks each (used of course) maybe 10 years ago and are great sounding. If they die REL won't fix 'em but meh...they were so inexpensive I've really got my mone...
Efficient speakers -- What was your journey from A to B to ? In 1970 or so I bought a pair of Altec A7s from the Strawberry Alarm Clock's drummer. That was my introduction to efficiency and they sounded amazing and served my bands well until I finally sold them in '86. I'd put the horns in their own frames ...
Efficient speakers -- What was your journey from A to B to ? I get amazing results from Heresy IIIs (tried the IVs but the mids were inferior to the IIIs)) and switching between a tubed Dennis Had "Firebottle HO SEP (high output...ha...) and a Pass XA-25. Two REL subs. Was thinking about the Volti Razz but ...
Eliminated my preamp with amazing results My original version Schiit Freya has a passive setting (two actually, one with FET enhancement for longer cables supposedly) that lacks the gain of the tube setting but still...it's passive. I use it to keep the tubes "honest" (are they dying?) bu...
What to do with a large collection I recently bought a Schiit Urd to see how the "Unison" USB in my Bifrosnt 2/64 sounded. It's amazingly good and I'm thoroughly enjoying my large but recently mostly ignored CD collection again.
Babylon sisters I still have my original Gaucho vinyl and it sounds great. Maybe one of my top two all time albums. Can't believe that was 1980. Years later I Iived in the same town as Elliot Scheiner and his wife Diana who directed a Shakespeare play for second ...
"The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism" Was he talking to me? El assumpto amundo. All wrongo bongo. Brevity...we need brevity. And what about Klezmer?
"The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism" It's the utter lack of mysticism that makes music special for me. It's real, it's right there, and unlike religious nonsense that leads to separations of cultures and endless violence, it does actual good. To say that society is based on love and ...
Do you adjust your subwoofer My 2 RELs crossovers are adjusted at the point where the main speakers drop off, with the sub levels and phase checked once in a while. I have a Schiit Loki Max EQ and use that in there a little bit if a recording needs it.
I found the best way to recycle my old tubes! If you could get them to glow a little...
Opinions about Daniel Hertz I thought Huff’s take on the plastic case for the Hertz amp was pretty funny...as if plastic was a breakthrough material. 12 thousand euros for the smaller amp...it might be somewhat water resistant, or it floats. Doesn’t Levinson live on a houseb...
Bose 901 Series V Questions The PA version of Bose speakers has 8 speakers facing out of course, and sound bad without the EQ.
Is there such a thing as a good medium priced music streamer? I use a Bluesound Node 2i (never liked its DAC) into a Schiit Bifrost 2/64 DAC...sounds great
Volume Problem Trouble Shooting Ideas? Yeah his amps are world class and certainly on the level of the most exclusive Japanese stuff. My Firebottle was relatively cheap in 2017...one month used for maybe 1100 bucks. I also bought a used (newer) "Hotrod" version but is wasn't quite as p... |
