I'm Done with the Fozgometer and the Foz XTR
My Fozgometer functions well but has been hit and miss sonically, mostly miss.  I picked up a new o-scope off Amazon and now set azimuth by crosstalk instead. It doesn't stop at "sounds good" - it brings that analog magic out - and for less $ than...
Speaker positioning: why do audiophiles neglect this so much?
My system has the speakers sixteen feet apart up against a wall with the gear and a couch between.  Imaging is only fair and soundstage flat.  It sounds incredible otherwise.  Much better than a well set up system that images and soundstages like ...
Interconnects for MHDT Orchid
Hated the WE 396A (too smooth) until I put the “transparent, lively” cables in.  Now they’re just right.   There is a socket adapter that allows the use of 6922 family tubes.  Some love it.  I did not not.  Another option though.  http://garage121...
Interconnects for MHDT Orchid
The Audio Envy are inexpensive, transparent and lively without sacrificing the bass. Click on the link. (In case you missed it)
Interconnects for MHDT Orchid
I’m using Audio Envy with my Orchid. I like it over either the Audioquest Earth or A Z Absolute Copper. I have the Satori Shotgun speaker cables. Bluesound Node (latest) with power board and LPS upgrades. Herron 360 pre Pass Xa-25 power A Z Cre...

Bluesound 2i coaxial output sound quality
@curiousjim , That's a very good question. Sorry, I haven't heard a $1000 streamer in my system so I can't answer it. I broke into streaming at entry level with the Node 2i and then the newest Node. I do like the OS and especially the remote. ...
Bluesound 2i coaxial output sound quality
It's worth looking into upgrading the power board with PD Creative and power supply with Sbooster. The high noise floor of the stock Node 2i streams lo-fi at best, even with an external dac.
what does this mean?
My Pass Xa-25 amp is also DC coupled. Pass warns to unplug the amp when attaching speaker cables. Shorting either side to ground (case) could cause unspecified damage.
Protecting Equipment from Children
I put my speakers close to and facing the wall. Found a child hiding behind it - hide and seek. No damage. The parents were another thing. Spilled hot tea on a wood surface and left to "potato chip" peel. Flushed an upstairs toilet, clogged, fille...

Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
hilde45, FYI, The Sbooster replaced the Node’s external smps. It was not added to the Orchid.
Bluesound Node 2021 DAC - I sold my Denafrips Ares II
painter24, You may have thrown in the towel too soon. I had the same experience with adding a MHDT Orchid dac to my Node 2i and latest new Node. The sound was barely different and barely noticeable. I then added (to the Nodes) the PD Creative pow...
Upgrade from modified Bluesound Node 2i and linear power supply (LPS) ?
I have the PD Creative upgrade on both the Node 2i and the new Node, with external mhdt Orchid dac.  If you do stick with the Node 2i, replacing the $20 MeanWell with the $359 Sbooster is a great idea. https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/pd-cr...
What went bang, smelled of "I'm fried", yet left it in working order...???
An MOV (varistor) may have let go.  They’re used across the line for spike suppression on power supplies and surge protectors.  That would leave you with a functioning unit but no spike protection.
