Harbeth M30.1+Luxman LX-380 & Audio Note AN-E/SPe Oto SE Sig
The SHL5+ is a bigger speaker with more output at lower frequencies and greater dynamic headroom. Therefore it is the better of the two for symphonic repertoire etc. However, a very similar effect can be achieved by adding subwoofers to the M30.1

Electronics (let alone cable) burn-in is another of those audiophile myths. Believe in it if you want - it is free world. My advice is to relax and not worry.
DSPeaker Anti-mode 8033 ii works wonders with my new sub
Dual mono is also preferable as it produces a smoother equalization. At such low frequencies sound is omnidirectional in any case.
Amp Upgrade - Capacitors, Resistors or both?
Yes it is more or less true. Electrolytic capacitors in particular deteriorate and have a safe life expectancy of perhaps 10-15 years (more recent ones from mainstream manufacturers are better). Do not take chances with those in your power supply ...
amp (or receiver) recommendation for Polk Audio RTi A7 floorstanding speakers
So your sub has L and R inputs. That simplifies it a bit. All you have to do is to run a cable from L out from the Focusrite to L in on the sub. Ditto with R. I am not sure about the plug that you linked to (call Focusrite for advice). See here fo...
Full detailed sound at 30 - 40 - 50 dB
Lowering ambient noise as much as possible is indeed a first requisite. In a new house you can specify sound proofing glass for the windows, muffled ventilation, a quieter heating system, but in an existing house these are all hard/expensive to do...

DSPeaker Anti-mode 8033 ii works wonders with my new sub
Good to hear you like the Antimode. When I acquired mine I called the manufacturer in Finland and talked with one of the engineers: with the Antimode the best position for the sub is well into a corner. This gives maximum corner reinforcement for ...

New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
The OP has already sorted the harshness of his HT system. As for the idea to go for tube amplification, I think that is unwise. Many tube amplifiers do indeed have a warm top end, but that is quite simply because their frequency response is not fl...
amp (or receiver) recommendation for Polk Audio RTi A7 floorstanding speakers
Yes it does. However, the Focusrite outputs are not rca but TRS (balanced), and they are stereo. So you need a TRS (balanced) to rca (unbalanced) cable. If you are not using an Antimode in between the Focusrite and the sub, that cable should also ...
Best analytical loudspeakers for strings (midrange)?
Indeed. I have the 2805 (plus sub&Antimode 8033) and they are the most revealing, natural and disappearing (apart from their bulk...) speakers that I have ever heard (I have had Quad stats for more than 40 years). Their biggest limitations are...
Using Oppo 205 instead of per amp processor
He wouldn’t be the only inarticulate poster here (although I sometimes rather enjoy his posts). There are times when I think some here do not only know nothing about science, but know no grammar either. A little bit of extra effort goes a long way.
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
The snag with smartphone apps is that they use the phone's microphone. In the case of the Iphone that is not such a problem because there are few models and therefore they can be calibrated for. In the case of Android, the variety is enormous. The ...

Harbeth M30.1? See here: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/harbeth-monitor-301-loudspeaker/Your room is not that large, but maybe the Harbeth SHL5+ is also feasible, for a bigger sound and more bass extension. Alternatively, you could combi...
