Question for Atma-sphere, will expensive power cables improve your amplifiers? @helomech +1 "Use caution when shopping for “audiophile” cables and cords. Some of them are poorly designed and actually inferior to cheapo manufacturer-supplied cords/cables."
Question for Atma-sphere, will expensive power cables improve your amplifiers? @jfrmusic +1 on findings "I have tried several upgrade power cords on my Accuphase P4600 amplifier. None sounded better than the stock Accuphase supplies. Upgrded cords seem to darken the sound, reduce openness and airiness. Accuphase documentatio...
Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ? @inna some fb to OP: discussing sound quality, using only price of cartridge, is pointless.. there are many $400 cart (80s price) outperforming $2k+ current offers. the biggest task of building perfect analog system is to match cart/tonearm/phono...
Question for Atma-sphere, will expensive power cables improve your amplifiers? @inna +1 "Accuphase stock cords are not too bad”, indeed! Accuphase cables are very good electrically speaking! More expensive cable upgrades cannot not change sound anyhow, assuming no other issues like RFI nose etc. In analog design PC is at bot...

Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ? "some do it right” - who does not? list would be welcome! :-)
Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ? "some recording studios use $5 per mile cables to make recordings” - not really, helped Sony Studios Toronto to find some interconnect issues, they have the best professional grade cables / connectors / mixers / amps / speakers / audio-processing ...
Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ? atmasphere, I was talking about vinyl records quality-control / sound-check, not cutting press-form process equipment.
If Bi-Wiring is an option, should I choose Bi-wiring over single banana with free jumpers "unshielded metal jumpers” - curious, how do you shield jumpers?
If Bi-Wiring is an option, should I choose Bi-wiring over single banana with free jumpers @steve_a001 Kimber-Kable 12TC speaker cable, 8ft long, has 0.006 Ohm resistance and less than 1uH loop inductance, which makes interconnect between amp to speakers terminals “invisible”. If cable is too long (high R and L), then there will be some...
Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ? "Better equipment makes everything sound better, regardless of the quality of the recordings" -only if you know what “better” is! LOL
Turntables currently considered top of the range. Do you know what they are ? "Do you really hear much of a sound difference between a $2000 turntable and a $50,000 turntable." Yes, “WOW” is much louder when folks see 50k spinner! LOL
Is there an 'Audiophile' Reel-to-Reel Machine for Under $1,000? metal type iv cassettes on nakamichi dragon/dr10 sound more “audiophile” to me than fe tapes even at higher speed on r2r
Mullard EL34 that sounds best correct, tubes initially age at faster rate, thus first 500hr tuneup is needed 50hr-100hr-200hr-500hr. what I like about JJ tubes is slower aging pace, less tuneups needed, and I suspect therefore Luxman selected them for their amps.
Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ? @rvpiano +1 "What type of LP would be up to the task of producing such high quality sound?" Vinyl records produced/tested with “professional” grade carts, with focus on sound accuracy. |
