Has anybody bought or heard a Chinese knock off amplifier?
@hiendmmoe I bout one expensive, very heavy “Accuphase inspired” China class A amp, which has different China Brand name on it. I inspected components inside, tested it for distortions, output impedance etc, and I didn’t find anything wrong with t...
DAC upgrade?
On my opinion, Gustard A22 is much better DAC upgrade option for audiophile, vs A18. A22 has much better power supply, solid heavy enclosure, dual AK4499 DAC, and NO OP-AMPS in sound path, using discrete class A driving stage instead. It works wel...
Anyone tried a Gustard x-16 Dac/Pre?
You will not be wrong and you most likely will enjoy this latest, based on Dual Sabre ES9068AS design, well tested, high quality Gustard X-16 DAC!I hooked up Gustard A22 Dual AK4499EQ DAC to drive Accuphase P-4500 amp, and so far I haven’t identif...
Upgrade DAC recommendation
I like Gustard A22 DAC’s sound, and how it looks. A22 uses two AK4499EQ latest ’n’ greatest chips from Akamai, buffered with balanced class A "discrete components circuit” outputs. Class A output on my opinion is much better than most design based...
Accuphase Amplifiers - members opinions on their class A- A75 amp and the a/b P-7300 amp
garebear, I have both, “A" and “AB" Class Accuphase amps, p4500/a48, and somehow mostly in use is p4500. These amps have pretty much the same improved input stage designs, but completely different output power stage circuits. I found A48 sounds li...
Accuphase E-470
"If you really want Accuphase then search for a U.S. model”-What is “US Model”? All Accuphase Amps/PreAmps for all World Markets are the same, use the same components, and all have internal switchboard to set power to 100/117/220/240V AC 50/60Hz.
What is the best solid state amplifier you have ever heard?
I found Accuphase P4500 for my setup as the best amp in many ways! If you can tolerate >200W class-A constant heat, then try Accuphase A48.
B&W 803D - Best amplifiers to drive them

Integrated amplifier sound
Total DF depends on series resistance of speaker cable, speaker-internal filter-crossover design and drivers, and therefore could be significantly lower than bare Amplifier’s DF. Also need to look at Amplifier Phase/Frequency response at particula...
Belt driven motor noise? My technics is dead silent?
"Tonearm is the same”I had SL1200MK2/3/5, and found as MK6 tonearm is more sensitive comparing to previous models. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technics_SL-1200SL-1200MK6-K & SL-1200MK6-S (released in February 2008 in Japan) with minor improv...
Belt driven motor noise? My technics is dead silent?
Consider also “cheaper” used Technics SL1200MK6. MK6 was the latest of original SL1200 Technics lineup TTs, and it has much better tonearm and wiring.
Are integrated amps technically better than separates?
@audition__audio: if your power supply, AC outlet before/after including,  is bad, comparing separates to integrated is kind of lower improvements pareto thing.
Are integrated amps technically better than separates?
Agree with “erniesch", his statement is 100% correct: "Never mind that just inside the wall is the cheapest copper lines the contractor could buy.” Last two feet power cable 10 or 18 AWG difference is drop in the ocean, if power lines inside house...
Are integrated amps technically better than separates?
Separates always will be better, technically. Also, separates give you opportunity to optimize amplifier with speakers, without changing signal processing part. In addition to amp flexibility, you can plug active speakers directly into preamp. Mor...
Why do you think Bi-Wiring improves the sound ?
@ alexdv1: thanks for posting this link! I agree 100% on technical details for bi-wiring there. from schematics side, bi-wiring is a two independent networks connecting presumably low output impedance amp to lo/hi speakers, while single cable is s...
