Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
Yes, but you have to pay attention to the polarity of the washcloth. The label goes towards the inside of the speaker body.

I had a good feeling that Jasmine would get you going. So, just curious, how are you feeling about your system today?
Interesting situation! Do we need this....
@rbertalotto  Okay, a relevant question, please?  During you're evening's musical session, was there the possibility of adult beverages involved?  I found (from experience) that the "correct" beverage can reduce the perception of upper midrange g...

@rvpiano  I've got a good feeling about your service call today with Jasmine. While it could be true that Jasime doesn't know her bass from her oboe about high end audio, it's also possible that Jasmine is an over-qualified electrical engineerin...
Ultimate stereo nightmare
@rvpiano First off, it sounds like you’re still enjoying your hobby. The fact that you just spent serious money on (upgraded) speaker cables is a pretty good indicator of this. I wouldn’t change a thing. If you use the formula: Grief Factor (G...
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice?
@dekay A little off topic but your cat references remind me of a box I keep of Hifi memorabilia from my 45 years of peddling "decent" gear. In the collection is a Focal Utopia berylium tweeter from years ago that formerly belonged to a customer....
Why does pulling out main speakers from wall improve sound?
It also lowers the noise floor. Like each and every time your audiophile friends come over to listen to music and say: "Hey, you really ought to move those speakers out away from the wall".

Why is it that every time, lately, that I'm interested in a thread...
Yep.  Someone introduces a topic and the next thing you know it's seen more threads than an antique Singer sewing machine. Topic: "I Woke Up This Morning and Notced the Walls are Perpendicular to the Floor in My Listening Room" Us:  Front mount...
Why don't higher end amplifiers come with a separate power chassis?
As expected, we’ve seen technically competent remarks from the younger, faster, and better looking members of this group. From an old guy’s perspective, I will add that the additional economic impact of building 2 chassis is significant. Here’s an...
Favourite Guitarists
I’ve been a terrible guitar player for over 50 years. It took me multiple tries to master the solo/break starting at 1:40. Hats off to Carl Wilson who probably nailed it on the 1st try.
Are There Improvements that Can Be Easily and Quickly Made Without Buying More Stuff?
Check the torque on your speaker raw driver bolts/screws. This was suggested a while back by a member.  After a quick check I found myself tightening 96 machine screws holding the speakers in place, ranging from “not quite snug” to “suspended in ...
Looking for a McIntosh amp that gives a great example of the “McIntosh Sound”
As a retired Mac dealer, I had the priviege of having a pretty big "toy box" of Mac gear to play with.  My current set up consists of C47/MC152.  If you're able/willing to stretch the budget a tad for a good used piece, the MC352 will provide 3db ...

IF your sitting close to the back wall, move your seat forward. IF you're using a high back chair, move you head forward.  Or, use another chair.

@mikelavigne Stunning room and system!! By comparison, it makes me want to turn my room into my insurance company for vandalism. Well played (literally), sir.  Thanks for sharing.
