Hydra 2 for CD payer & Integrated amp.
"2 much?" maybe, but not "too much." Digital with analog in same Hydra? Jbello, how does that equate to electric nirvana? So you don't believe in dedicated lines, I suppose? Jeremy there are ooldles of threads about this in the archive. Do your ho...
Hydra 2 for CD payer & Integrated amp.
You would do much better having 2 Hydras running on two dedicated lines. The only way to totally isolate your digital from analog. If you cannot spring for that much $$, go for one dedicated line for your Hydra, and just plug in you cdp. Use the o...
Subwoofer in the corner? Forget about it
I have never had good experience with subs in the corner. I like mine right next (inches) from my mains. Makes seamless integration much easier to attain. I was very happy with one 10" sub in my last place, but looking back (I had the room for 2) ...
Listening triangle
make that 8.5 between speakers--even better..
Making a Geographic
Tweaking for the past couple of days, but I think I'm there. Got myself in a 8.5 foot equilateral triangle, with both subs on the inside of my Caravelles. Set at 50 Hz and the gain at 12 o'clock high. Perfect for my listening space. Two are better...

Well, I got those babies hooked up. Weigh a ton, but look nice. My immediate impression, (of course at loud levels the bass is "simply marvelous.") is how much more texture there is in listening at moderate to very low levels. This is going to be ...
Listening triangle
Experimentation seems to be the key. I'm playing and having fun. I used to keep my speakers 6 feet apart. There is a lot of interesting things going on with 9.5 feet between them (subs in the middle) with the high ceilings an opening. very interes...
Subwoofer in the corner? Forget about it
for two channel sound I keep my subs as close to the mains as possible. Yes, two is better than one; and bigger is uaully better. Listen to two 10" subs in a system play the second cut Use Me on her Champion cd. Keep that in your typanic memory bo...

"Maybe my problem for being a scientist." That sounds good to me. I didn't mean the "homework" remark to sound the way it did. Sorry if you were offended. I don't understand your scientific lingo, but I do know, however, what tingles these golden ...

Pete, put your speakers on the short wall, as well. That will work with your subs if you go that way. I used to own a pair of CS1.5s. Let's face it: how much air can you move in a room your size with a 6.5 woofer? It has been my experience two sub...

Seurat, just got home from a wonderful sushi dinner celebrating a very long, tedious house closing. I'm exhausted. I should have thrown a comma in there, but a couple of killer subs will add the oomph (power) to move the air and avoid the nulls--c...

Pete, I'm going through the same situation. This advice only goes if you're grooving with your Thiels, but missing the "room filling impact without boom." Get yourself a PAIR (two is better than one in the sub department. Power plus room nulls avo...
Making a Geographic
I realize now what came over me; and rightfully so. The house I just bought has a much larger listening space, and with one side of room opening into a huge hallway, plus a very high ceiling left me with the jitters. I've got to move more air. I h...
Got NBS Omega I cables - Shunyata Hydra now ?
Every manufacturer (my experience) recommends their own power cords (if they make them)for their power condtioner. Synergy? $$? Wouldn't you do the same? Hydra 2 and 8: same thing. Two outlet vs eight. I'd go with two Audio Magic (in your case 2 H...

Tvad, does this sound familiar? Mike, I was just referrencing a thread where we were talking about the same thing. Now that you are getting into treating your electric as a serious fundemental component in your system (which it is) I would, firstl...
