4 must have hours of baby boomer music? yep. They are just at the cusp. 50+ is the Woodstock generation: the meat and potatoes: Earth Day, Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, The Filmore, The Beatles at Shea, Dallas in '63, Disreali Gears, and on and on. If you don't know what I'm talkin...

H.P.Caravelles owners, are you still Satisfied. Scotty, (or any Caravelle owner) maybe Powder would consider selling you his, just found after all these years, Sistrum stands. Will notch what the Caravelles are capable of another level..scary where these little (50 pounders) Caravelles can go...
H.P.Caravelles owners, are you still Satisfied. Powder, you are the VERY first that I know of who owns these babies, other than myself, of course. Can you give us the who, what, where, when and why on these stands? These are amazing speaker stands. Will bring out the best in any pair of speaker...

H.P.Caravelles owners, are you still Satisfied. Oz, that's the first I've heard of that. Although I have the Caravelles on Sistrum stands, they are not the dedicated stands. When you heard the "magic" what were the Caravelles sitting on? Wood stands? Wood is an incongruity with the Caravelles g...
H.P.Caravelles owners, are you still Satisfied. Seth, my review was based on my listening experiences in a VERY "regular" rectangular room with a very small listening triangle. Now I am in a much larger space, with an open side going into a hallway and 12 foot ceilings. No Caravelle on earth (i...

H.P.Caravelles owners, are you still Satisfied. Ellery, be gentle with me. I believe I was one of the very first to own a pair of these babies. Raved like the audiophool I am, and I got beat'n up a tad. Everytime I put my rig on: I'm still amazed at what I hear from my Caravelles. ( shit, there...
Power cords, most effective placement: I agree with Sherod about using recordings that you're very familiar with. I find break in with a power cord not to be as long as ICs and cables. 50 hours (high current pull) should get you there. Cord placement?: the source of course....warren :-)
SS intgtd- Ayre; YBA; Sugden; Bel Canto; Accphse ? I have never listened to the Ayre, but I own and love the YBA. The sweetest 100 watts per, these ears have ever heard. Put a great power cord on that baby and the next time you're looking to upgrade your amp, you may want to think of a car, instea...
Subwoofer in the corner? Forget about it gotcha..
Subwoofer in the corner? Forget about it Stan, I don't think so...If one has a pair of speakers that are beautiful and accurate top to bottom, adding a sub can still improve the sound even though the sub is not handling any deeper Hz the main can't. A recording, say, with the lowest Hz l... |
