Reference 3A Grand Veena's I appreciate the responses from everyone. Great feedback, and a lot of food for thought. Another possibility I suppose is moving up the Piega line. I'll try to get around to hearing a few different speakers over the summer and see what, if anythin...
Edgy Trip Hop Recommendations Yhave you heard the Massive Attack and Tricky albums? If not, checking those out is a must.
Audiophile grade country Good call, Pehare. In fact, John Doe is STILL an X man. Saw them last night in Asheville, NC, and they sound better than ever! The new countrified album with the Sadies is very good, too.
Notice to all. Bob Williams of Audionut deceased. Then what is the point of the post? I didn't know Bob Williams either, but obviously several members here did. Why not let them mourn his passing and share stories without interjecting pointless, insensitive comments? It is actually possible to ha...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good? How about "The Armageddon"? Now there's a marketing campaign I'd like to see!
Confessions I can't really play any of the free jazz I love so much when my wife is home. Cecil Taylor, Ornette Coleman, Coltrane's later recordings on Impulse, Albert Ayler...anything like that makes her crazy. As far as rock goes, I have found nothing that c...

High Current Monoblocks I would add the Tube Research Labs Samson monoblocks to the list you are considering. These amps are not as small as the Nuforce, Claytons, or Channel Islands amps, but they are smaller and lighter than many of the Class A behemoths such as Pliniu...
pc to dac? I'll vouch for the Berkeley DAC combined with the Lynx soundcard (which cost nearly as much as the Dell computer I am using as the server). I've had this set-up for several months now, and I no longer think about upgrading my digital source, which...
Review: Tube Research Labs Samson monoblock amps Amplifier Bill,Sorry, somehow I missed your question. I have Piega P10s. I now have probably 450-500 hours on the Samsons, and they have reached another level just in the past twenty or so hours. Paul says they will improve even more at 750 hours or so, whi...
Troubleshooting help please The gain in your preamp could be too high. I have had this happen a couple of times with different preamps. You may be able to get it adjusted, which is what I did.Good luck.
Who's your guitar daddy now? Richard Thompson still does it for me.
Review: Tube Research Labs Samson monoblock amps Amplifier I've had mine for four days and have about eighty hours on them. There is no doubt that they have already changed a good bit--the bass is getting deeper and tighter, the mid range more full bodied and the highs more extended. Already, the amps are...
Preamp Deal of the Century Maril555,Come now, with all due respect you did not "simply tell your story." You questioned the integrity of Supratek owners whose experience differs from yours, and you made a snarky remark when members did not immediately post in support of you...
Preamp Deal of the Century Maril555,I am sorry you had a bad experience with Supratek. Of course, we only have your side of things, but whatever the case, I hope it is resolved soon. You say it is "interesting" that you have received no responses to your criticism. For one t... |
