Streaming Services
As many have already suggested, Quobuz is my preferred service. Also as many have suggested, you will have to dump the Mac as a streamer. Even an entry level BlueSound Node 130 (newest version) will provide a great interface and superior sound qu...
New speaker cables - now audio seems panned right and left
How do the cables sound now that the phase issue is sorted? I'm considering trying some China cables to see how they perform in comparison
Speakers for a unique small room
+ 1 on the Buchardt Audio S400 MkIIs. Doesn.t mind being near a rear wall, as little as 12 inches because it has a rear passive radiator and not a rear port. Great little speakers for a little over $2,000. You can find dozens of reviews on them on...
Power conditioner wire gauge? Serious issue
In my system, I have 2 12 guage dedicated lines (one for power and one for signal components). I do not condition the power amplifier, as it sounds MUCH more lively and transient not going the Panamax M5300 PM power conditioner. I do HIGHLY sugge...
DIY Amp
+ 1 for the Tubes4hifi kit. I built my VTA ST-120 about 4 years ago, and still own it to this day and love it.....note this is the only tube amplifier I've owned. I now just have to install it back into my system, with my solid state gear. I built...
Looking For 18awg Audiophile Power Cable Options
Acar83, Not debating the reasoning behind your thought, but Morrow Audio has cables that may be near what you are looking for: Their MAP-1 uses Litz construction, and the total is 17 gauge. Their MAP-2 does as well, and the total is 15 gauge. I ...
Recommend A New DAC Between $1000 and $2000
+++ Denafrips Pontus II. I have had mine for nearly a year, and still love it. Certainly the best DAC under $2,500 IMO…..and I’ve heard a few. It has the traits you are looking for, with just a hint of warmth. The newest Pontus II 12th Anniversar...
What I wish I knew before starting my audiophile journey
A few additional things that have helped me greatly in my journey: (1) Be open minded to information and experiences of others on these threads, and not dismiss things because I am unfamiliar with it. Same with reviewers, but with a grain of salt...
What is the current retail cost of your reference system?
Total cost for main system (I do not listen to vinyl) is about $15,000 and cables are another $2,500.
Schiit Yggdrasil Less is More, is it a quality dac ?
Yes the Yggy is a very good DAC for the money, and it all comes down to personal preference on it's sonic presentation. I found the Yggy to be a little forward though very detailed, kind of similar to Chord DACs. Great soundstge, very quick, yet a...
Building a new system after many years away, need some suggestions ... !
You did not mention a price range per component. That would help you get better suggestions, and a more appropriate match.
A Skeptics Digital Upgrade Journey
No recommendations on power cords just yet, as I am still saving up for my new cables. However, and if you haven't already done so, upgrade your power to your equipment. Two dedicated lines pulled separately from your electrical panel (not run in ...
Interconnect advice needed
Since you are in Sweden, definitely look at Supra cables as Kota suggested; made in Sweden. I’m in the US, and I have their RCA analog, digital co-ax, and USB cables…..very well made and reviewed
ATC SCM19 V2 Recommendations.
Good luck with placement challenge, and that is some great gear…..would love to own those speakers. I do suspect at some point you’ll find the need to upgrade your DAC. The Ares is a capable DAC, but not quite up to the rest of your gear.
Birthday DAC
Mpomerantz  I have no personal experience with them, but Lampizator have quite a few highly thought of tube DACs. I’m sure someone will post more for you
