Shunyatas New CX series
Rcrerar,I have no affiliation with Shuyata except for being a loyal customer. The only inside track with Shunyata you'll ever need is Grant. He's a font of information and understands audio and audiophiles. It's great news that there's another pri...
Bidat vs Perfect Wave vs Weiss and others
Audiofun,It was told one of the Audio Note DACS was from England..I'm not sure about the other one. It's too bad the processing power necessary for high rez files is beyond the bidat or its mods. I hope one day that John Wright will come out with ...
Bidat vs Perfect Wave vs Weiss and others
Thanks. I was only aware of Harley's comments. I know several people who have run the Bidat against Audio Note's top of the line DAC of two years ago and they said the Bidat bested it. FWIW.

You are correct Kijanki.
Help me solve static electricity problem
UPDATE: More than a month has gone by and the use of a simple dryer sheet before touching components appears to be the solution to my particular situation. I suggest that everyone should try this before more dramatic, awkward or time-consuming opt...
Bidat vs Perfect Wave vs Weiss and others
I'm particularly eager to hear bout the Playback Design, given the reviews I've read. Have you considered the Berkeley DAC that Robert Harley raved about a while back? I believe it handles hi-rez. If you haven't heard Shelby Lynne's tribute to Dus...

Sorry for all the typos in my previous posting...too much coffee.
Bidat vs Perfect Wave vs Weiss and others
Audiofun,I missed this thread because it shifted from the old one. It's fascinating and I'm reading it like the latest issue of Stereophile! I'm eager to hear more about the MSB in terms of how it compares to the Bidat. I'm not surprised by what y...
Shunyatas New CX series
Grant,Thanks for the response...honest as always. It's why I keep returning to Shunyata. BTW, the stiffness issue was a deal breaker for me because of my rack and its arrangment. So, I'm glad to hear of the change. I'm still perplexed that we have...
Shunyatas New CX series
I'd love to hear from anyone whose heard the brand new Black Mambo CX and HN. I wonder if Shunyata had trouble selling the "stiff" Viper CX's and Sidewinder CX's... because they're being discontinued in favor of the Black Mambo series.

Timrhu,Your dryer sheet solution was sure a lot cheaper than replacing my preamp! ;-)
Help me solve static electricity problem
Just an update for anyone interested: after two weeks, no pops at all and the weather is colder and dryer than ever. The only change has been the use of a dryer sheet on my hands before touching components and making sure NO cables are touching ea...
What's a good power cord for conrad-johnson CT5?
Onemug,Yes, it does. I'll take this opportunity to comment that I've a/b'd the original PC with three different brands and non have matched the massive soundstage created by the Shunyata Taipan. That aspect of sound is not as important to everyone...
What's a good power cord for conrad-johnson CT5?
Clabe,I've never heard Virtual Dynamic cords but I've seen that they look like iron bars...if they won't pull by Hydra down, I'll check them out.
What's a good power cord for conrad-johnson CT5?
Sherod,I have returned to the Shunyata Taipan Helix. I have not had a chance to try the many interesting suggestions on this forum. The PS Audio statement lacked the soundstage I was looking for. Virtually all of the "forward" and somewhat "harsh"...
