~$6K mini-monitor recommendations?
I owned the Raidho X-1s for a stretch. They are amazing when listened to at a distance, spaced 9’ apart and with 2-3 feet of clearance behind them. If setup isn’t perfect, they are not a special speaker. Just because a speaker is not rear ported d...

KR Audio repair
You want to work with Renaissance Audio in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  They are the Authorized Service center for KR in US and Canada.  Bradley Smith is who I talk to and he is who introduced me to Eunice Kron who is the actual owner of KR.  Follow th...
Sophia Electric is not honest
I deal with Sophia semi-regularly. I don't think they are dishonest.  Communication leaves something to be desired in that they can be out-of-stock and not tell you till after you order.  They are a marketing company.  I don't think it is a secret...
Naim Audio system owners - What speakers are you using with Naim?
Just before the Covid19 quarantine hell, I was in a shop helping a retailer setup my Verdant Blackthorn 1 speakers which are a standmount.  We had them paired with Naim Nait XS3 and sounded great.  We switched between the Nait and a pair of MC275s...
Best Tubes for VAC
They aren’t cheap at $200 each but you should consider the KR KT88s.  Amazing tube.  Open and airy.  For current production, debatably the ultimate KT88.  for 6922s we use a NOS Philips with Art Audios that are outstanding and modestly priced.
Raidho speakers with Audio Research Tube amps
Technically I suppose it is a choice but you would have the bass drivers aimed toward each other, your equipment and the back wall.  It would enhance bass volume greatly but harm clarity I think.  The key with these speakers is a little flex in pl...
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium
The only thing I would say about Raidho is you need to give them space to breathe and that tweeter is very delicate. It won’t make your kids sick but it can be ruined easily by them and Raidho does not offer grills. That being said, most amazing s...
Speaker sensitivity, impedance, and calculating amp power
I was about to type Almarg's basical post.  That is solid advice.  Even was going to recommend the same calculator.Good luck to you!
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium
I would look at Kaiser, Wilson Benesch, and Raidho.  The best of their speakers under $30K are stand mounts but all are amazing products.  You could also look at Vivid.  The Chiara is the best sounding stand-mount I have ever heard.  I love the Ra...
Raidho speakers with Audio Research Tube amps
I have.  I love the tweeter and the soundstage is truly spectacular.  They are tough for room placement because of that side firing woofer. In the right room they are brilliant.  You probably need a room that is 20' wide to have enough room to ...
Standmount speakers with Line Magnetic 518 SET amp?
I designed my speakers (Verdant Audio) with a different brand 845 (Art Audio Quartet).  Literally what final voicing was done with.  They are intended to take full advantage of the massive soundstage and extraordinary detail you get from an 845z. ...
Cant find much info on Art Audio Vinyl Reference Phono
Fair...the K&K Vinyl One was not built quite to the same standard as the UK built Vinyl Reference.  The circuit is better on the Vinyl One but was made using less expensive parts to hit a more appealing price point.  The parts on the Vinyl Ref...
Cant find much info on Art Audio Vinyl Reference Phono
I am the newish importer of Art Audio (in year 2).  The Vinyl One was made by K&K in the US more than 10 years ago to keep costs down.  K&K no longer has a relationship with Art Audio.  The Vinyl Reference was discontinued when Vinyl One p...
Putting speakers next to other speakers
Go to any audio show to see (and listen) to speakers placed next to each other.  Staggering is key and the speaker on the inside will be at a disadvantage.  You will hate moving the speakers around and making fine tweaks in the dozens.  It takes m...
