845 Tube Refresh
Little bit of upheaval recently in the tube market with PSVane Acme.  Grant fidelity droped them in favor of the newer LinLai brand.  No idea how LinLai compares to the old PSVane Acmes and I am not sure where you can get the PSVane Acmes any more...
Would This Amp Be Worth The Cost?
I love the preamp.  That is very much the digital module within the M33 and is an awesome value.  There is a surprising bias against Classic series stuff from NAD.  That is a great unit.  I would partially agree with the sales rep.  It is not the ...
DAC/w Volume control + Power amp or DAC + Integrated?
It really depends on the DAC.  I had a PS Audio DSD which is an awesome DAC but the volume control in it is not strong.  There are a couple reasons for this, but it was inferior to my preamps.  I have since moved to Chord and Rockna DACs and the v...
The best cost no object tube DAC
What market are you in?  I can get that Jadis model to listen too.
Anyone Recently Change to Class D power?
Am not a huge fan of Rotel or Parasound personally.  I find they are both competent but unexciting amps.  They need exciting speakers to be at their best.  This is obviously a matter of taste.  I think the C298 is more dynamic.  It is not in upper...
Mounting near field monitors above 3 computer monitors
The new Vivid monitors in the Kaya line have integrated wall mounts.  A bit pricier but they could be an interesting option for you.
Anyone Recently Change to Class D power?
I have had a variety of units in recently that are Class D (Rogue, AVM, Canor, NAD) or unspecified with switching power supply (Chord) in case my benchmarks which are a pair of Art Audio Opus 4s which are Class A KT88 based monos. Each has pros and...
Would This Amp Be Worth The Cost?
The Musical Fidelity represents a strong value.  They are made in Taiwan (at least for now, production seems to be migrating to Canor in Slovakia) and as a result are a lot less expensive than many made in US/UK/Germany/Japan products.  Very good ...
NAD T778
Nice device.  Very stable.  Has an upgrade path for when tech comes out.  NAD sounds neutral which will be a fine pairing with Vienna Acoustic.  The most important feature is Room correction and they recently upgraded to DIRAC Live vs Audyssey whi...
845 Tubes, what's a good source in US?
No idea.  Now that Grant Fidelity is not carrying them, not a clue.
845 Tubes, what's a good source in US?
I am a tube retailer and 845s are a pain. Only a few in current production and the KR is potentially a very bad choice as it is not a drop in substitute for most amps. The filament current on it is much lower 1.0 Amp vs the tube spec of 3.25 amps....
Magico Customer service
If a product is under warranty, even if the product is sold, many companies honor that warranty. PS Audio or Chord are great examples. As long as you have the bill of sale from original purchase, they will cover repairs under warranty. If a produc...
EL 34 tubes
I had a customer just order a pair of Sophia EL34 for a Lampizator DAC and was raving about them.  Seems like they are delivering a pretty good tube.
Best Server To Run Roon Core
A Roon server is just that, it is only a Server and its job is solely to handle your music library and communicate with either Qobuz or Tidal.  A Roon player/renderer processes either the track served to it by server off of your local drive or fro...
Best Server To Run Roon Core
This depends.  Servers range in price from a few hundred dollars for a NUC up to $35K for a Taiko.  If you are at the very high end, you want to take into account what is your preferred connection, what clock you are going to use, etc...  Do you h...
