Analog cables for TT I agree with Fcrowder, after the Hovland the improvement compared to price was not worth it for me.
Has anyone answered the real question? My favorite is to sing along. Anyone who has heard me sing never wishes to again, it kills the tune and forces something else into my head
Does it make sense to buy SACD of old recordings? I can't speak for what you are refrring to but my decision to buy a SACD player was on here the difference between the redbook and SACD versions of a Diana Krall album. Wheather that would also apply to older recording I do not know but those with...
6550 tube vs KT88 Can't speak to the KT90's, have not heard them.A while back, I was auditioning an Audio Aero amp. It could take either 6550's which worked in my Conrad Johnson Premier 11a or KT88's which came with it. My experience with my system showed the KT88'...
Should we upgrade high end fuses? Joeylawn3611I agree it just does not compute BUT just like you give 6 cooks a dozen eggs some butter a little flour the same utensils and viola you get six different cakes. They may not even taste close to each other but they all have the same ing...
Are some of us cultish in our beliefs Some people are open minded and willing to listen to anything others like something special(their view) and focus on that. Why should it be anything different in audio than politics or food.
I'm Looking For the Best your favorite radio station playing live recorded classical music or any music that you lie. You have the best musicians, the best halls, its recorded live and it can be sent to your Ipod. What else could you ask for?
Should we upgrade high end fuses? A simple possible answer from a scientific and even testable hypothese would be that:Given that different metals have different electrical characteristics. Given that changing anything in a chain will likely effect the whole chain for better or fo...
phono cable for a scoutmaster For synergy I would agree with Riffer. I have a different set up but I finally choose the Hovland MusicGrove2 with the Cardas Neutral as a close 2nd choice. Nothing else worked as well to give me the clarity and lightness on piano with the depth o...
2 subwoofer??? I tried 2 subs with my B&W matrix 804's and they added a depth to the soundstage that was unknown to me before. I have since switched to Legacy's Focus 20/20 which is like having 2 subs in a speaker. Definetly an improvement over 1.
Best sounding Saint-Saens Sym No. 3? I don't know if I can answer your question in terms of sonic but I have gone through a number of versions of this and the ones I go back to consistently are1)with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra with E. Power Biggs CD 2) Georges Pret...
Good Bach Piano Concerto in Dminor recording Gould was an amazing pianist best bet would be to try for a better copy and or get a mono switch . No one I know of can play anywhere near that quick. There is a CD of him playing some Haydn piano sonatas that are worthwhile.
Mono Switch? One of the main selling points for me on the Thor TA-3000 phono preamp was that it had a mono switch. These things matter and more manufacturers should be aware of that
What will beat ear 834p by a margin I haven't heard a number of the ones you mention but I did a listening comparison a few years back with the Conrad Johnson Premier 15, The Pass Xono, the Herron V?SP, it's been a while, and the Thor TA-3000. The C-J almost made it, the price was r...
recomendation on a power conditioner I had PS Audio and for me the fan was always an issue, I listen to classical and at low volume. My solution was a sound applications power conditioner, check them out, they appear on A'gon fairly regularly. |
