How do you train your ears?
During my college years took a course in Music Listening.Had to learn to tell the keys, notes, etc. apart. While cannot do it today, the effort to pay attention has stayed with me and made listening more eventful and enjoyable. There are probably ...
A look into classical
Another alternative is if you have a classical music station just listen, what catches your ear? Then go get a CD that has it and see what it is combined with and go from there. It is a bit of hit and miss but over time you will find what your att...

Stiltskin I basicly agree with you but have not heard either, hence my question as to what others have heard. It was Raul's kind comment that made everything quite simple. To paraphase: Given the level of quality just look for what you get in back...
Phono cables
The object on the other end is called a DIN connector. You can probably get Cardas to put both a DIN and XLR connectors on a phono cable for you. Yes phono cables are a bit more speciallized in my experience. They are expected to pickup accurately ...
