Vote for best US made solid state amp
From the ballot, I vote: Pass.
What Goes Around, Comes Around...?
I agree with Viridian with regard to the Franks / Alison comparison. I think you could add John Pizzarelli to that mix. If you strectch it, you might add Hoagy Carmicheal(sp?) too.
Clarification of biwire, biwire shotgun, etc.....
What's discrete bi-wire? How many connections at amp end? How many connections at speaker end?
Thiel 1.6 - bass
To extend the bass of Thiels even lower, I suggest bigger Thiels.

Alternatives to Dunlavy SC-IVA???
IMHO the speakers that come closest to Dunlavys are Thiels.

cdp to amp

Why vinyl?
Asa, well said. I agree completely.
Electrostatic Speakers/SS amp - what tube preamp?
Considering your use of a balanced DC coupled solid state amp with an input impedance of about 50 Ohms(?), I think the the well built, user friendly, flexible, balanced, low out put impedance, DC coupled, neutral sounding, Sonic Frontiers Line ser...
How would audio program about stereo on Radio do
There used to be one on FM. I'm not sure but I think it was called "Audiophile Audition".
