Best new 70" to 80" display I agree with Fplanner, but other than very expensive 3 chip front projectors, and despite the good blck levels, I've never cared for DLP.
Is my room 11 x 14, or 11 x 20? I believe the general rule when a room opens up to an adjoining room, is to reduce the volume of the adjoining room in half, and add that divided amount of space to main room's total volume.
Budget Chinese Tube amps - any good? Does anybody know what speakers this amp is for?
How can you tell the quality of the recording? Sorry about the timeline error. It's inexcusable, there is no need for a trade off. The medium is fully capable of delivering the balance of what's there without having to sacrifice the dynamics. Classical CD's are the proof.
How can you tell the quality of the recording? Mapman, I've got to disagree with you on the quality of CD's over the past 30 years. Most CD's sold are Pop recordings. 30 years ago, many of the original pop CD's were rushed to market on early generation equipment by engineers still learning how...
Has LED caught up to Plasma? Chadnliz, unless your watching the Sony 30" from 4', I can't help but wonder if you'd feel the same way if the picture on the Sony 30" was blown up to the same size as your 100" projector screen.http://myhometheater.homestead.com/viewingdistanceca...
Has LED caught up to Plasma? Obviously I fall into the same camp as Elizabeth. Though flat panels are still challenged to meet SMPTE, never mind THX standards for size to distance, other than as front projectors, in most real situations CRTs are woefully incapable. Not that l...
Piano and Trumpet can sound bright Charles1dad, Ah, I think we have a better understanding now. I was not suggesting that trumpets always sound bright, just that they can have their moments of brightness, and perhaps more so than some other instruments.
Has LED caught up to Plasma? Marakantetz, that was true not that long ago, but not anymore. CRT's might have been more durable, but they can't perform as well as today's better sets.
Has LED caught up to Plasma? Paulsax, I don't think we're "happy" about TV's lasting only 8 years, but I doubt many of us have the wherewithal to build our own longer lasting TV's.:-)
Best new 70" to 80" display Fplanner, thanks for the links, very cool. It seems to me that we might be in a petty disagreement re: a marketing strategy. In the video link you provided, the speaker tells the audience that it was developed with Pioneer and Sharp engineers, and...
Piano and Trumpet can sound bright Charles1dad, When I lived in NYC some years ago, I spent more nights than not in various jazz clubs for several years. I've heard many bright sounding trumpets and pianos. Sometimes that's the intent of the musicians. I stopped going for various r...
Memory Players ...."If true, that would say essentially that their approach creates a problem which it then solves." LOL!

Speaker Upgrade Xti16, wouldn't it be more honest to ask about pre owned or demo pieces first, if that's what your in the market for? |
