Anyone dislike Ohm Walsh speakers?
Thomas:I've owned my OHM Walsh 4's since 1986 so they're my 'forever' speakers. It's very hard to buy speakers without auditioning them; couldn't agree more. Here are some tips to help you make your decision:You prefer electrostatics to conventional...
Class A into Class AB
@itsjustme...   was not clear what your point was.... The point is the name of the thread is...... Class A into Class AB

Why don't you ask NP on diyAudio.

The Threshold S550e amp from the early 90's was rated at 250 WPC.This stasis design had optical bias circuitry and the bias was set at 100mV.Threshold claimed that it would run up to 20% of it's rated power in class A (that's 50 watts!!)My NAK PA-...
How long do good speakers last?
Good to see so many people looking after their gear.My Walsh 4's were made in 1984 and re-foamed in 1998.Currently being re-foamed for a 2nd time after 23 years of service.I was advised by OHM that they're actually in pretty good shape but they're...
Cable Goop Review George is going to freak!!
Ozzy,Stabilant 22 does not claim to improve SQ but rather conductivity.Tested by many independent sources in the mid 80's including us automotive engineers where were able to confirm improvements of up to 200% in uV and mV applications.
Cable Goop Review George is going to freak!!
ozzy,Stabilant 22 improves the connection by up to 6 db and that's why it's used by NASA, the military, etc.NPS 1260 may be a great product but I don't believe it has the pedigree of Stabilant 22.
Cable Goop Review George is going to freak!!
I'll stick to my 'Tweek' (Stabilant 22) that Mike Wright (the inventor) gave to me as a gift in 1985 or so.
Has anyone used the Rega Ania with a Phono Box S2?
I've listened to an Ania on a similarly priced NAD PP-2.  Noise floor equal to my NAK CA-7A pre but lacked the depth of presentation that the NAK has; but I would classify it as very good.Ania was on a new Planar 3, nice sounding combination but I...
Fidelity vs. Musicality...........Is there a tug of War?

And Now, For All You Omni Fanatics
I've owned Walsh 4's for 35 years so I consider myself as an expert on their sound.  One aspect that has not come out much over the years by other Walsh 4 owners is the ability to tweak the sound to compensate for room acoustics and personal prefe...
Advice sought on sending a preamp from Canada to the US for repair and return
You're implying that your expensive pre-amp can't be serviced in Canada. Not true.  You just need to find out where the good techs are.My recommendation is to PM @anatech at diyAudio who has been fixing hi-end gear for decades and is also a moderat...
why do people think the LINN LP 12 is so superior to the Thorens (say 165 super)
If you really want to piss off your LP12 friends get a Heybrook TT2 with aluminum sub-chassis.That will shut them up once and for all.
Audiophile Priorities and Recent Topics
@three_easy:   I've been around a long long time, all the way back to when Lafayette ruled.I've seen many generations of 'what is important in audio' come and go and this current 'age of wire' will eventually go too, but it has been around a long ...
Ohm Speakers and Services prices to increase September 1st
With their new price increase they're slightly ahead of inflation for the next few years. My Walsh 4's were $1,895 in 1984 which is roughly equivalent to $5000 today. My 4's current equivalent is the Walsh 3000 which retails now for $5400.However, i...
