And Now, For All You Omni Fanatics
I've owned Walsh 4's for 35 years so I consider myself as an expert on their sound.  One aspect that has not come out much over the years by other Walsh 4 owners is the ability to tweak the sound to compensate for room acoustics and personal prefe...
Advice sought on sending a preamp from Canada to the US for repair and return
You're implying that your expensive pre-amp can't be serviced in Canada. Not true.  You just need to find out where the good techs are.My recommendation is to PM @anatech at diyAudio who has been fixing hi-end gear for decades and is also a moderat...
why do people think the LINN LP 12 is so superior to the Thorens (say 165 super)
If you really want to piss off your LP12 friends get a Heybrook TT2 with aluminum sub-chassis.That will shut them up once and for all.
Audiophile Priorities and Recent Topics
@three_easy:   I've been around a long long time, all the way back to when Lafayette ruled.I've seen many generations of 'what is important in audio' come and go and this current 'age of wire' will eventually go too, but it has been around a long ...

Ohm Super Sound Cylinder SSC-4900 initial thoughts kinda review
@Monstertruck:I've owned and enjoyed a pair of Ohm Walsh 4's for the past 35 years. To me the Ohm signature sound is simply addictive; it combines the openness of stats with the dynamic impact of box speakers without the vocal colourations so commo...
Review: Sansui AU-7700 Amplifier
In early 1976 I bought an AU-6600.  For a 42 watt integrated it was over-engineered compared to anything else at the time (and certainly now).I specifically recall the tactile feel of the switches and knobs... they felt solid and expensive.  Best ...
New speakers dilemma for vinyls... Heeelp! :)))
Make sure the dealer has those models in stock before you go.PS: the 4000 is the same as the 3000 except it's a 12" driver and can go a little lower and also louder.
Ohm Walsh speakers in the 21st century
JD,The only difference between the 3000 and the 4000 is a 12" driver vs. 10" one. Naturally it can go a little deeper in the bass and louder too.The Dynaco 400 is exactly what these speakers prefer. As you may have noticed the OHM website is not bi...
Ohm Walsh speakers in the 21st century
JD, given the size and nature of your listening room You'll need to go with the Walsh 3000 (or larger) and a good robust amp, which they love.
