What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano @calvinj Vienna acoustics Taking another listen to the VA Liszts recently, I remarked that I had never heard the attack on the leading edge of the piano notes rendered in such a life-like fashion. Of course, it will depend a good deal on the rec...
PS Audio PWT and PWD MK II--recent acquisiton Can you listen to any Vienna Acoustics models? Or Spendor?
Plinius 8200 mk2, really low volume!! If all the cables are hooked up correctly, and firmly secured, then to be sure of the culprit, you'll have to go through the elimination protocol.Plug a line-source (e.g. CD-player) into one of the line inputs. Test.Plug another phono source into...

Help needed for a skeptic! A couple of used purchases is fine, but if you want to shuttle in and out four or five different brands in fairly short order, I don't know of a viable alternative to the Cable Co.

Help needed for a skeptic! I think you need to go the Cable Co. loaner program route. For every 10 posts here there will be 17 different recommendations. Personally I like Wireworld and Audience, but then, like everyone else, I'm biased.
The latest and greatest With the excellent word of mouth when they first came out, KEF probably sold a lot. Some of their buyers were caught up in the excitement of the moment. A couple of years later, they’re looking for the next big thing. The number of used Martin Loga...
Decisions, Decisions.... Mcintosh, Devialet and B&W Advice Needed Unclear to me why you would switch from Devialet to McIntosh, as you clearly have a budget that would allow for a variety of options.Anyway, my guess is that you're missing all that signal processing that the Devialet was doing, and probably the o...
Open Baffle. Why are they mostly limited to DIY? There's also Emerald Physics, from the guy who went on to found Spatial.
Classical Music for Aficionados Third Vivaldi Four Seasons recommendation: for sheer excitement, you can't bear Fabio Biondi + Europa Galante.
Which watts are the right watts in SS amps? I don't know about the Music, but I've heard the Liszt driven by Ayre's 60-watt integrated, and they sounded great. Even better, needless, to say, with Ayre's 125 watt integrated, which is what my local dealer likes to use to demo those speakers.
