Focal Aria speaker The bigger the differential between the plane of the scene and the plane of the speaker drivers, the better. Negative effects definitely are reduced (personal experience). Try the woolen rug drape on the screen; you could also think about gettin...
Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord? Certainly no news about this on the RF Circuit and Assembly site which is supposedly the company doing the buy-out. Also, rather troublingly, the two links on the bottom of their homepage don't lead anywhere...
WHAT HAPPENED TO SONUS FABER? @ggc Thank you very much for filling in perfect detail the complex backstory that I was briefly alluding to in previous posts.BTW, does anyone own a Ktêma or an Accordo?
Suggestions for Amp & Preamp or Integrated for my speakers Talk to Johnny Rutan at Audio Connection. He stocks Vandersteen, Belles, and a bunch of other brands too.
Focal Aria speaker Wasn't there a thread on here 7 or 10 days ago, with someone who had ordered in 948's (or 936's) and was having a bit of a hard time getting used to their sound.@rvpiano You may want to search 2018 threads.
Speaker recommendation @rvpiano For classical music enthusiasts, I would normally recommend many British brands, like Spendor, Harbeth, PMC, Proac, etc., and some others, e.g. Vienna Acoustics, Audio Note, some older (used) Sonus Faber models. But at your price point, ...

Speaker recommendation So bass and soundstaging, right?I think you were impressed by those powered woofers. Personally, I believe for the classical music you listen to you need a more subtle and sophisticated speaker than GE.Have you thought about PSB T3's? Vanderstee...
WHAT HAPPENED TO SONUS FABER? After he left Sonus Faber, Serblin designed and had manufactured at least two models that are not SF.There are various events that are not all simultaneous, I don't know the exact chronology: FS leaves SF, SF is bought out by larger company, FS pa...
Power conditioners and wall warts If your particular conditioner has fully isolated banks of outlets, then surely this isn’t a problem (plugging one straight in, I mean).
Speaker recommendation What would they be replacing? What aspects of your current ones are you chiefly aiming to improve on?
WHAT HAPPENED TO SONUS FABER? The real magic exited the company with Serblin's departure (he made a few more models on his own), but it lingered on for while, ever diminishing. I auditioned the Veneres and thought them engineered to impress in a 2-minute hearing, but sub-par ... |
