A move from Harbeth to... Wilson? Move up the Harbeth food chain. If you really like their sound, moving to Sabrinas may not be the best change. If you want to try something different, check out the Vienna Acoustics Liszt.
Pass Labs x250.8 vs tube amps Take a look at the Linear Tube Audio OTL designs. BTW, all their amps can be bridged if you need/want to.
How do I pay? Walk away. Too much risk.
Pangea True Balanced Premier SE XLR? AQ, yes, but don't AA make a big deal about the special copper they use coming from Cardas?
More power for moderate listening levels? There have been several threads of late on amps to drive Harbeths. Short summary: there is no easy answer. Take a look. That being said, you would probably have been better off with the 30.8 for a bit more oomph.
Audio envy - dang! Thanks for passing on the Captain’s somewhat cryptic reply re. G:L vs. 4:3. If the 4:3 had identical sonic signature to G:L *and* offered superior shielding, why would he offer the G:L at all? Please report on which XLR's you bought.

Flat screen between speakers, again. The other place I tried the GIK panels was perpendicular to the wall behind the TV (and hence also to the TV itself), with one side edge of the panel touching the wall, and snugged as close to the edges of the TV as possible. This was more effect...
When was the first time that you heard great sounding speakers? Stereo Shoppe (I know, I know) in Ann Arbor, long since defunct. B&W 801's, no idea if series I or II. Before that a taster with the large DCM Timeframes.
Best Power Cable for Luxman D-08u SACD player. Triode Wire Labs Digital American. That's what I have on my D-05u.
Flat screen between speakers, again. I have a pair of the GIK free-standing panels, 4' x 2'. This allows you to experiment with placement. I started off with the pair cosied together directly in front of the screen and as close to it as possible. But I ended up with them separated... |
