Best interconnects from preamp to amps, within budget
At that price point definitely go to Audio Envy.  Best bang for your buck.
Mozart-Clarinet Quintet
The modern clarinet is usually thought of as having three registers, the chalumeau (with a more woody tone), the clarion (with a brighter tone), and the altissimo, which gets you into some serious harmonics.  The "octave key" (which isn't a...
How to Solve High-Frequency Suckout in Room?
So it's not the room, it's somewhere in your system.  Further swapping and substitution of cables/channels will reveal where it is.  Proceed by using logic and focus on one component at a time.
Corpse Cable - Opinions Please
Too stiff.
tube pre & ss amp integrated
For the MA352 kind of money, I'd much rather go with an Aesthetix Mimas, also hybrid.
In-Store (Best Buy) KEF R3 vs B&W 705 S2 Comparison
+1 Fritz. If you want to go big-box, Crutchfield has a 60-day return policy, and of late have been adding to their repertoire of good speakers.
Is blasphemous Music ok?
Posters might want to check with Salman Rushdie to get his take on the question.
Would There be a Significant Difference
It's Belles/Power Modules.  David B. has an Aria signature preamp and a Virtuoso preamp.  Both very much worth considering if you go SS.  Johnny Rutan lets you try before your buy.
I saw AG member's post about "the best cables" sold directly. What about Anti cables?
I think the design principles he follows are more interesting than the results obtained.  Still, I note that Jim Salk seems to use them at all the audio shows.
Mozart-Clarinet Quintet
@mahler123    Nice one!  I was reacting to the statement in your first paragraph, and should really have paid more attention to what followed. Yes, Stadler was the friend of Mozart for whom he wrote the quintet and the concerto, though I gather th...
Bowers and Wilkins, 801 D4
For exactly the price of the B&W, you could get a Sonus Faber II Cremonese.  Which is no contest.
Spendor SP100R2 still a relevant speaker?
Yes, very much so.  Many people prefer either the Mk1 or the Mk2 to the Classic 100, as there have been subtle shifts to its voicing over time.  If it's a good deal and appears in good condition I would pounce.
Mozart-Clarinet Quintet
I'm going to demur, and say that the first clarinets, made by Denner, appeared around 1700, 50 years or so before Mozart was born.  I believe Vivaldi was the first composer to call for clarinets in a composition.  Of course that Denner clarinet wa...
Help fine-tune my speaker search
If you go with Fritz, you can call him up and discuss the various models he offers, and get his recommendation as to which one best suits your tastes. Beyond Fritz, here's another serious contender. https://tyleracoustics.com/products/t1-studio-...
New Project RS2T transport
@robshaw This will stay in budget and is a top recommendation. Mega - Audio Envy Likewise, Cullen is fine, though the company is in transition. Triode Wire Labs and Zavfino are both great, but might push your budget a bit.
