@mahler123    Yeah, no longer made and the complete mechanism is $150+ shipping, so, no bueno I researched Audiolab CDT 6000, and found an awesome deal on AudioGon. It is truly amazing in my system. MSRP $620~ 650. The slightly used one <$...
Does anyone have any experience with the LSA VT70? Thoughts, comparisons??
@mulveling  Do you believe the many lies told every day in the MSM? There's always a fall guy
Bought the Technics SL-G700 SACD Player
I don't have one YET, but it is on my list to replace my Oppo 105 with modified power supply that I bought specifically to play SACDs. A couple things... XLR sounds much better with my 105, and likely will with yours, BUT, you need a true balance...

Why I'm not adding a sub to my 2-way monitors for music
I sold my 2 SVS subs a couple weeks ago. Mostly a net gain, as they are designed for home theater, not hi-end audio. Shortly after I reinserted my Marantz HD CD-1 as a transport, instead of using my Oppo 105 digital out into my Audio Alchemy DDP-1...
Sony SCD-777ES, Oppo UPD-205 or Marantz SA-KI Ruby
@dcaudio  I hear you. I have made do with an Oppo 105 to which I upgraded the OEM power supply, the IEC, and a jumper to bypass the 110/220 switch.  My intent was to simplify my digital playback, it CAN sound pretty good with SACDs, but many of t...

Differences the Project RS2 Transport and the (newest) Jay's Audio CD2 Mk 3
@charles1dad    Im sure there are sonic reasons to spend a lot more, and I did before I retired. The point I was trying to make is in the case of the transport is, according to the linked review, it serves up a lot of quality sound @ ~$700, allo...
Differences the Project RS2 Transport and the (newest) Jay's Audio CD2 Mk 3
Jason, you are somewhat misinformed. I agree that $2K+ transports are too rich for many (including myself), but the following review holds great promise at a sensible price: I had been using my moded Oppo 105 (LPS, Furutec IEC with silver tail to...
Transports
I have owned many transports, and players used as transports, over the decades.   I had been using my moded Oppo 105 (LPS, Furutec IEC with silver tail to the power supply and jumper to bypass the 110/220 switch). I play SACDs direct to my Audio ...
CD transports
I had been using my moded Oppo 105 (LPS, Furutec IEC with silver tail to the power supply and jumper to bypass the 110/220 switch). I play SACDs direct to my Audio Alchemy DDP-1 + PS 5, but I use a Pangea XLSE digital coax ($169 from AudioAdvisor)...
Transport to replace my cd player
Decades ago, I had 2 CEC transports, which are great, BUT, the belt stretches over time and are unreasonably priced. I did some research and found a company that sells the same size for a fraction of the price. Moreover... Recently, I started inv...
