Best XLRs under $500 a pair
Ralph Karstan (Atmasphere) posted on another blog (my recollection could be the opposite)  that IF your components have a certain circuit then you won't appreciate any said improvement beyond basic XLR cables

Looking to replace a CD transport...
One thing I really appreciate with the Audiolab CDT6000 is that it shuts itself down when I leave the player on pause. The lack of this feature has probably cost me several transports, as I often fall asleep while they were on pause, so could be s...
Many higher end preamps are dated and ugly, why is this?
I like the Audio GD, fully balanced, which is ~ $3300 from Underwood HiFi. There's an ad for it today
GaN amps: Peachtree or LSA Voyager?
@pehare  That should be an interesting review. I have mad respect for Ralph, though Ive never been in a position to buy his kit. Why not start your own thread?
Best power cord for a preamp?
After many years using 3 WW Eclipse 7 CONDITIONING Power Cord (MSRP $260) I just upgraded many multiple its MSRP, and while the replacements are significantly better, the WWs are excellent at their MSRP
Ideas for an amplifier?
Over on USAudiomart someone is selling a LSA Voyager Gan 350. Ive had one for 1.5 years, and continue to be amazed. I just upgraded the coax cable yesterday and the benefit/improvement over my Pangea Premier SE coax is jaw dropping, The sound is n...
Balanced versus single ended
@atmasphere   It is a Peter Madnick design: Audio Alchemy DDP- 1> LSA Voyager 350 GaN amp. I never considered that the DDP-1 might not be True/Dif balanced. This certainly isn’t definitive from TAS review Robert Harley 3/2016: I began by lis...
Balanced versus single ended
+1 to Ralph. I switched to Dif/True balanced systems decades ago. That said, I do find differences in mfg XLR cables (including length of identical cables), which could be the XLRs themselves, and/or quality of solder/ joints, as well as the wire,...

About 4 months ago, I bought a Audiolab CDT6000 ($700) can't imagine any in your higher price range being worth the extra $$$
Honest Experience on Effects of Subwoofer Please
From personal experience, deeper bass rarely loads seamlessly in the same plain as the mid/highs, and will likely interfere with them due to the greater vibration that they create Some 10 years ago I bought SVS subs as they were inexpensive compa...
Speakers for Second System
Definitely check out LSA speakers from Underwood HiFi. He sells direct, and unlike PS Audio, he passes the saving on to the customer. AND, they have received really good reviews. I have their previous open baffle speakers and love them hth
Cary Audio Design CAD-120s mkII or Music Reference RM-9 MkII?
DOH! I was thinking of the amp
GaN amps: Peachtree or LSA Voyager?
@niodari Having been both a dealer and an audiophile for many decades, and having owned plenty of amps, including SS, tube, and hybrids, after 1.5 years owning a Voyager, there really isn’t much in the $3K range that comes close, new or used. An...
