Best sounding headphones you have owned?
Would love to try out the JM Audio headphones. I hear so many good things about them, never seen them in person though. Seem like a killer deal. I'm loving the Raal headphones and am tempted by the new Immanis or Magna models but the pricing is a ...
Upgrade from Innuos Zen Mini Mkiii to Innuos Pulse
I think the Pulse makes more sense for most users compared to the Zen line. A few years ago I tried a bunch of options and ended up with a Zenith MKIII. But that is because I wanted something that would hold my entire library. I have the 8TB versi...
A Somewhat, Affordable Aurender
I'll echo what others have said about the older X100L. That was my first Aurender and I loved it. Later tried moving "up" the line and found that I didn't really care for most of the others, unless I went all the way to the top of the line. And by...
Veritas Cables a new brand that I found
Nice to see another fellow Luxman CL-38uC user @lak! That is a beautiful system you got there. Thanks for adding your 2 cents about the Fidelis interconnect. If it satisfies someone with a system of that caliber, that speaks volumes.  Spent more ...
Sony or Panasonic 4K Player vs. Magnetar or Reavon Universal Player
I was in a similar situation not long ago, the Oppo was actually starting to have issues with HDMI handshake failing. I was told it would potentially be an expensive fix with no guarantee of success. Went with the UB9000 and have been really happy...
Ascend Acoustics - any experienced users?
Agree with everyone else. Ascend makes great no nonsense designs. Maybe boring looking, the sound offsets that and then some. Reminds me of early Salk speakers before they got more advanced with bigger and better designs or more fancy wood options...
Jamming with JAMO?
Always wanted to try the R909, althouhg my room is probably better suited for the 907. Jamo has been making a lot of very inexpensive home theater type speakers lately which seems to diminish the brand name. I never care about prestige though, wou...
Veritas Cables a new brand that I found
I've been comparing the Veritas Connexa ethernet cable to my others. So I'm still very impressed with the performance. Especially with the price being lower than most of the others I have been trying out.  System is the Innuos Zenith mark III, Mo...
Snake River Audio Power Cables - Best Unboxing
All the more reason to consider adding a quality power device to your system. Surge protection, voltage regulation, etc, all very useful things for safety and sometimes sound quality too.
Veritas Cables a new brand that I found
The Veritas Connexa ethernet cable arrived yesterday. Really interesting look to it. I guess this is how Cabledyne products were built, I have not seen any of those personally. I like it. Sound is promising so far. Can already tell I like it bett...
聖HIJIRI Users thread
@lak Thank you, I guess if I clicked to their website I would have learned that as well. Interesting they are still around. Focus maybe shifted a little but I think even back then they were focused on small details like vibration control and signa...
Furutech Lan 8 NCF
It's on my list of Ethernet cables to try. I agree that burn in "requirement" seems absurd, and the build seems a bit on the budget side. But the price is right so I'll probably still try it at some point.
Shout out to Revival Audio Atalante 3 speakers
The Vivids do have that Dr Seuss look to them. I think that would be great in some homes and terrible in others. Depends on the decor and such. I think that darker color for the Atalante posted above looks beautiful though. Sort of a mature Harbe...
Tannoy Canterbury, KEF Reference 5, Fyne Vintage Twelve, SF Serafino
The older I get, the more I start to notice how big of an influence the room makes to my sound. Don't get me wrong I love tweaks and swapping cables and such. But unless you have your room sorted with treatments, it probably makes a bigger differe...
Time For a CD Player Upgrade
Are you looking for a regular CD player, or would you be open to adding an external DAC? In that case you would continue using your Rega as a transport, feeding the DAC with a digital cable.
