Veritas Cables a new brand that I found From a few posts up: "We use Ultra Pure Ohno Continuous Cast (sometimes called UP OCC) wiring which is claimed to be 7N purity. It is debatable whether or not the technology exists to properly differentiate anything beyond 5N, and certainly the d...
Comparing Powerline Ethernet to WiFi for streaming audio I believe the adapters I use are these https://www.gocoax.com/product-page/ma2500d Inexpensive and they work fantastically, seem to be just plug and play. This assumes your home is already wired with coaxial cable from a cable TV or maybe Dish N...
Mcintosh MCD12000 issues Yes as everyone says, contact the dealer or McIntosh or maybe even both. That's really the best way forward.
Comparing Powerline Ethernet to WiFi for streaming audio My house is not wired with ethernet and wifi can't reach certain rooms very well. It has dead spots. My kid works in IT and set everything up using something called mocha adapters? I'm probably saying it wrong. It uses the wiring from Comcast TV s...
are there any fans of the Oppo BDP-95 out there? (vs. Oppo 105D). I remember the 95 being a little smoother with less detail. The 105 series digs deeper which tilts it towards a little clinical at times. So just depends on your system and preferences. They are both good for the price if you can find one in good ...
Lampizator Review Seems excessive to me but if someone enjoys it, good for them! The more affordable Lampi DACs are really good, almost purchased one several times over the years and might still do so at some point.
Mcintosh MCD12000 issues This is 100% a situation where you contact your dealer and/or McIntosh for help. Lots of well meaning people on here but probably none of us qualified to troubleshoot a faulty device like that. But McIntosh has a good reputation for support so you...
W4S DAC2 vs Benchmark DAC1 my observation Wow talk about bringing an old thread back to life! I think you can still trade in the older Wyred4Sound DACs for a good value towards newer versions. I don't recall if they sell them or strip most of the guts but reuse the case. Either way that ...
Veritas Cables a new brand that I found I ordered the Veritas Praesta that I plan on using with my Luxman MQ-88uC amplifier. Was considering buying a couple more but then I figured I would see how I like it first and then maybe order again later. They had them in stock yesterday but it ...
A Somewhat, Affordable Aurender @navyachts I've had the Innuos Zenith mk3 for a while, with 8TB storage, and I really enjoy it. If I didn't need the local storage and mainly just wanted to stream from Tidal or another similar service, I would probably go with the Innuos Pulse wh...
Who has heard the Wyred4sound 10th Anniversary DAC? Always wanted to hear this dac but never had a chance. Their base model DAC-2 was great for the price when it came out way back when. I love how you can still upgrade the older players too.
Veritas Cables a new brand that I found Just emailed them about the Praesto power cable which I think is the one @bander speaks highly of. They responded within about 15 minutes(!) saying a batch is in the works right now. Sounds like those should be ready this week. They also mentioned...
Magico speakers too clinical and fatiguing? I loved the original Magico Mini. A true masterpiece. The V series was also very good. Ever since they switched away from wood enclosures to metal, I completely lost interest. The sound is very capable for what it is just not my style.
New Speakers under consideration - but I’m afraid I think you can definitely improve on your old B&Ws. But let's appreciate that they gave you decades worth of enjoyment! Best bet is to find a good semi-local dealer and see if you can listen to some options for yourself. Then see if you can t...
Looking to buy JSE Infinite Slope model 2 Wow thread resurrected from the dead! I sincerely hope the original poster is still in the market, and that they connect with @tattooddp since those speakers are very rare these days. |
