Sony DVP-S9000ES vs DVP-NS999ES Ed --Actually, I even heard from some people that the digital projection wasn't that hot either, because some of the new digital cinemas weren't set up as well as they should be.As for the original trilogy . . . . amen to that! I keep my LD player...
An odd idea Blw --I live in a rented house, so cutting holes in things isn't an option . . . . can I get a projector and screen that I could mount without doing major surgery to the ceiling? Screws and bolts in the ceiling are no problem.
Are NHT VT2.4's harsh, or is it just me? I agree with you on the newer metal tweeters . . . but you should listen to the older, soft-dome NHT models. Still EXTREMELY revealing, but not harsh.
Sony DVP-S9000ES vs DVP-NS999ES Ed --Please note that I did not say that "480p looks better than film" . . . I said that "Attack of the Clones" looked better to me on DVD than it did in the theater -- not at all the same thing. I DO know what good film looks like -- "Attack of t...
How to improve 2-channel performance in HT rig? The passive pre is supposed to be here on Dec. 2 ((!($*!_$*!$ UPS! TWELVE days from CA to PA?????)I'll let you know how it works out . . . .Pat
An odd idea Ah, a projector. I'd like to have a projector . . . . I'd like a pony, too. Unfortunately, they both have about the same likelihood of working out in my living room. Too much light for the projector, I fear (and too much rented carpeting for the p...
I am ready for TRUTH, I can handle the TRUTH Clueless --That's true, but I've found an even more direct correlation between a geometric decrease in IQ and the number of Chris Farley movies one owns . . . .IQ = (OIQ (1/i * 100)) / CSF(n)whereOIQ = original pre-AV IQi = diagonal inches of TVCS...
I am ready for TRUTH, I can handle the TRUTH Try positioning your main L and R speakers a foot or so in FRONT of the television (i.e., closer to the listening position), so that the TV isn't directly in the path of your speaker plane. That will definitely help some . . . . I've also recently...
Sony DVP-S9000ES vs DVP-NS999ES Linkster --Can't give you a comparison, but I own the 9000ES, and I can tell you that, on the new "Attack of the Clones" DVD, the progressive scan picture on my 51" Sony digital widescreen set looked better than I recall the 35mm film looking in t...
Recommended Carrier for Speaker Shipments A further word of advice -- PACK IT YOURSELF! A seller took some gear that I had bought to one of those Mailboxes, Etc. places, and they packed a Lexicon DC-1 and a 50 pound Rotel amp IN THE SAME BOX.Needless to say, damage ocurred, and needless t...
Recommended Carrier for Speaker Shipments I've recently had a couple of pairs of speakers shipped FedEx Ground, and they arrived with no problems. Just avoid UPS at all costs . . . .
How to improve 2-channel performance in HT rig? Carlabarla --Another thought for you . . . . I don't know what the VT2.4s are like, but I know my 2.3As benefitted significantly from being raised up about 8 inches off the floor, so that the tweeters are level with my ears when seated. Doing that...
How to improve 2-channel performance in HT rig? Carlabarla --I just ordered a 2-channel passive preamp from Channel Islands to replace the Lexicon in the 2-channel signal path -- I'll let you know how that turns out.You mentioned in your other post, though, that you were using an inexpensive So...
An odd idea Again, thanks to all for the suggestions!Tok2000, you make a good point . . . . I guess the speakers are the key, moreso than the amplification.Subaruguru, thanks for the warning! Perkadin, interesting suggestions! My speakers are already set up a...
CD Player buying decisions The DVP S9000ES significantly betters the Music Hall. (I have the 9000 in my main HT rig, and tried it out in the headphone system, too -- better bass, more seperation of instruments, and a better soundstage, if you can use that term to apply to h... |
