Well worth tube rolling, and the "F1" version (direct coupled with oil caps) is definitely the way to go. A true giant slayer at reasonable cost.

Another alternative is Grand Prix Audio Apex footers - have them under my speakers and love them sonically (and they can beasily adjusted for leveling, which is critical).

What Logenn said - superb service from Lamm is something I've come to expect. I have never gotten even a whiff of "marketing-ese" from them.

used Avantgarde Unos should be available in the $10K range. Full range, 103dB sensitivity; but you must be able to sit 12' away in your room. 
Which cost more: your system or your car?
Was system (retail to retail) until last year - now car is about 30% above my rig. Very happy with both!

Michael, the Snell Type Bs are a much warmer, ballsier choice than the Thiels, which to my ears are more clinical (a bit tipped up) in character
