Thiel 3.7's and Pass Labs xa60.5's- now looking for the next upgrade I have a good friend with Thiel 3.7's. He is using a Parasound JC5 amp with an older Pass Labs preamp and phono preamp, both are the two box versions. Not the XP20, the version before that. I don't hear any brightness or hardness in the upper m...
Thiel 3.7's and Pass Labs xa60.5's- now looking for the next upgrade One more thing, the Pass gear is absolutely dead quiet, something I have never experienced with even the best tube gear.
Thiel 3.7's and Pass Labs xa60.5's- now looking for the next upgrade I am using a Pass X250.8 amp with my Sonus Faber Amati Futuras. I was looking for more detail, dynamics and bass slam. I replaced a Doshi Audio full function tube preamp with a Pass XP22 line stage preamp and XP17 phono stage. Before the Doshi,...
Doshi Jhor 90W monoblocks I have been using my Doshi Jhor amps (original versions) and Alaap full function preamp with Amati Futuras for the last 1.5 years. I love the combination. The Doshi gear were purchased to go with my Sashas and that was a great system. But the Dosh...
is lamm 1.2 enough for sasha I've been living happily with this combination for over 2 years. My previous room was 20X36X9 and the Lamms did fine and never ran out of steam. As mentioned above, they are a great matching amp for the Sashas. Good luck!Dave
Any bad experience with wilson audio sasha w/p? To the original poster's question, my answer is yes I have heard the Sasha sound ragged, bright, and lack coherence. It was in my system when I made the mistake of stacking a dac we were trying out on top of my phono stage. Vinyl sounded the worst...
Preamp for Lamm M1.1 monoblocks I have M1.2 monoblocks and owned the Lamm LL2.1 Deluxe, then Musical Fidelity hybrid kW and now have an Audio Research Reference 5. Each move was a step in the right direction of improved transparency, attack and dynamics. The Ref 5 gives me the t...
Wilson Sophia III vs Sasha Sorry, above I meant to say Sophia 3 to Sasha.
Wilson Sophia III vs Sasha I recommend you post your question on the Wilson Audio forum, or at least search the archives. There have been many posts about your topic and many have written about their experiences of going from Sophia 2 to Sasha. You will also find lots of in...
MoFi So Long So Wrong I have no problem with these two tracks. In fact, I use "It Doesn't Matter" as one of my references for evaluating set up and gear. I listened to it just yesterday when rolling various tubes in my phono stage. It's a great song and sounds wonderfu...
Graham Phantom Supreme? Smoffatt,I had the bubble level installed at the same time, sime my Phantom II was one of the first and did not come with the level. Total cost was $600, but I think Bob threw in the level for free.Sorry I can't be more descriptive of the impact o...
Graham Phantom Supreme? I needed to have some work done on my Phantom II and recently sent it back to Graham. While it was there Bob did the supreme upgrade. Service was great and he had it back to me in a little over a week. As an aside, Bob Graham is a great guy, and w...
Revel Salon2 vs Wilson Sasha I heard both in the same room using the same front end equipment. The Salon II had very good bass and a big powerful sound. But they also sounded like a collection of drivers with little coherence, the soundstage was very flat, and the tweeters ca...
Best Integrated amp for Wilson Audio Sasha It's really hard to tell you which is the "best" for your system. It would be helpful to know the size of your room, the kinds of music you listen to and how loud you typically listen. I don't think it is a matter of pure wattage/power as how stab...
Revel Ultima Salon 2's vs B&W 802d's You already have the best advice you need...your ears! You have the perfect situation with both speakers in your home (and I'm assuming) in the same room and with the same associated gear. Just put on your favorite music and see which one you pref... |
