Does anyone have an opinion about the new P S Audio Bridge 2 ?
The Bridge 2 does gapless beautifully. More stable than the original Bridge and it sounds better too.
Help me choose a mono cartridge
@smoffat, I tried a Quintet Mono and an AT33MONO on my VPI Classic 3, using arms that were best matched to either cartridge. The AT33MONO is relatively light and of low compliance so it matched best with my SS black damped Classic arm; the Ortofon...
Turntable Wars- Reviewers take sides
Hi Harry! My Harry's Workshop Classic 3 was spinning some holiday vinyl not a few hours ago! Looking forward to more over the coming days.BTW, HW is not kidding. I was, as they say, gobsmacked when I saw all of the phenomenal stuff at his house, a...
Turntable for life
I've had an AR ES-1 for 30 years. It's had every upgrade out there so by now the only original thing on it is the plinth, but it is not my last table. In the last couple of years I'd been planning to move to a table with either two arms or an easy...
Help me choose a mono cartridge
Has anyone heard the non-SE 2M Mono against the AT-33MONO? They're reasonably close in price; seems like someone might have checked out both before deciding which one to get.
A new player in the quality Mono cartridge game
Like a few who have posted here I've been looking for a mono cart - so I've been following this discussion about the AT33MONO with interest. I wonder if anyone has a handle on how it compares to others in the price range of up to $500 or so.
How often do you upgrade your turntable?
I changed from my AR ES-1 after 30 years. During that time I tricked it out with almost every improvement ever made for it, but as the rest of my system gradually improved over that length of time the day came when I felt like it was time to move ...
Experiences buying used cartridges
I had one very positive and one very negative experience buying used. The bad one was for a cart that (sounds like the stock description) had "low hours" and "functioned perfectly". It couldn't make a clean sound to save its life. I made the mista...
Clear Day XLR
Vito, I got one of the first pair of Paul's XLRs last year. They replaced by AZ Absolute Coppers, but that doesn't mean in my system they do everything better. They are slightly smoother and have more extended highs. The mids are great, but from t...
clearaudio turntables vs vpi
Hiendmuse, thanks for that. I'd love to get your impression of how a Prime set up that way sounded next to a Classic 3 (if you could make that comparison).
clearaudio turntables vs vpi
Hiendmuse, what else did you hear at Harry's? I'll be going up to see him this Friday.
Acoustic Zen Silver Ref. II vs Absolute IC's
Barto, what did you move to, and did you find something that kept what the Absolutes do well but give you more air and openness?
TUBES: Telefunken EL84 & ECC801
Chakster, the answer depends to some degree on the kind of sound you're looking for. If you like what the TFKs are doing, then IMO Montytx is right - the ECC801S and the Valvo 6201 is as good as you can get. Other well regarded tubes - the Sylvani...
Madrigal Proceed PCD3 remote control... HELP
Luca58, two things. First - I've had this happen in one or two remotes I've owned. If you haven't tried it yet you might want to take apart the remote and carefully scrub away the residue. Use caution when doing this, but sometimes the remote can ...
PS Audio Direct Stream
Agree with Ozzy regarding the inputs. But IME the output (XLR in my case) is very sensitive to correct IC matching.
