Proofreader wanted
Don't get excited, but the grammatical errors aren't limited to magazines. Take a look at some of the Audiogon "Forum" postings. I believe that most of the posters here are well-educated but just fail to proofread their responses. I have revisited...
Hot Tuna "S/T"
"Blue Country Heart" by Jorma Kaukonen is great bluegrass music. I bought the SACD as I remember him from the Airplane's early days. Getting it was an impulse, but now it has steady rotation at my house.
Amplifiers:A Keeper for Life. Do you know of one ?
I still value my Classe DR-15 that I've been using for twenty years. Classe amps from the early 90's (during David Reich's tenure) just sound right. Maybe that's why you so seldom see the DR models come up for sale on Audiogon.
Stax Driver Comparison
Judging by the dates of this thread, it may be too little too late but I feel compelled to make a comment. I owned the same solid state Stax combo as the poster of this thread, for about twenty years and was very satisfied until I finally bought a...
Parsound ZDAC kind of blowing my mind...
Sorry, but I just have to ask the rhetorical question, i.e. if it's the same as the M1DAC, why did they rename it M1CLic? Who dreams up this stuff, and why are prices all over the board? No need to answer as I'm sure that anyone can guess the answer.
33.3 is now superior to 45
A whole record collection with only one title. That's hilarious! Unfortunately, it's too true. I, for one, won't be fooled by another format or a remaster of the remaster. Sorry, music industry, but these marketing ploys have really gone too far.
Parsound ZDAC kind of blowing my mind...
Greyhound, I visited the Audio Advisor website and did find the Musical Fidelity M1CLic for $499, as you said. Audio Advisor claims that it is 75% off but other sites show an MSRP of $799. I don't know if that is the lowered price or if the M1CLic...
Price Increases
Thank God for Audiogon! But seriously, I have often wondered who buys the megabuck speakers, i.e. $50K+, brand new in this economy. I'm just glad they do so when the upgrade bug hits, I can buy their second-hand 9/10 cast-offs at half the original...

Musical Fidelity puts out several models in the M1 line. The power amp and network player are around $500 but I believe the DAC goes for a bit more. Audio Advisor is a good discounter of high-end gear but even they don't discount 75%, unless its a...
Which one box Headphone AMP/DAC combo?
Obviously, you have many choices. You should at least consider one of the Benchmark DAC/headphone amp products. They have been well reviewed, transparent, versatile and in your price range.
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
Any Sonus Faber speaker should be held for life. Buy them for looks, keep them for the sound! When you consider the resale value of most speakers, relative to their new price, it just doesn't make sense to sell them. They will always look great in...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
FWIW, I think that it is determined by your personal history. If you grew up loving music and listening to it on a decent stereo through good speakers or headphones, then you realize that your experience can be enhanced through better equipment as...
What's In Your Tape Cassette Deck Tonight?
Cassettes have never been out of rotation in my home. I own about two thousand cassettes and play them on two Nakamichis through Stax headphones. I listen to a lot of acoustic, singer-songwriter stuff. Right now I'm listening to Gordon Lightfoot. ...
Blu Ray Audio has any one tried it?
Just a comment. I have hundreds of records, thousands of cassettes, thousands of CDs, DVD-As and even SACDs. Now they want us to chase higher resolution through computer audio, high res downloads and the like. It sounds like Blu-Ray Audio is next....
