Better story teller than Edmund Fitzgerald?
I don't know if there is a better song than "the Wreck......", but there are other good ones. "Roads to Moscow" Al Stewart "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts" Bob Dylan "Hurricane" Bob Dylan "American Pie" Don McLean "Jack and Diane" John...
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@sejodiren  There is a club in Vancouver called the Commodore Ballroom thats been around close to 100 years. Small capacity and a dance floor that is spring-loaded. Saw Rory there, along with Tom Petty's first tour, Roy Buchanan, Buddy Rich, Dav...
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@sejodiren  Was lucky to see Rory three times back in the '70's and each one was magic. Don't remember him being that loud, but there's a long list of things I don't remember from those days.
Unscrupulous ebay buyers
@nonoise  I had that happen to me once, but I didn't realize it happened until after I took the pair of speakers back. Buyer insisted that one of the tweeters was blown, which I know it wasn't. But when I checked, damned if the tweeter wasn't blo...
What's up with lousy bass on classic rock recordings?
@macg19  I have been frustrated by the same thing, but of course there is nothing you can do to fix it. Unless someone can get hold of the analog tapes and remix everything.
Small, Effective Subwoofers?
@navyachts  @hheedah  I use three Rel subs (two T5's and one T7) plus one SVS PB2000 along with a Musical Fidelity M6si integrated as well. So you know, 4 subs are better than two and putting the subs right next to your speakers is risky at bes...
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@jonwolfpell  "Strangely, I saw Jerry & the Dead back then several times & it was loud but very clear & enjoyable. " McIntosh powered instead of Marshall powered.
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@daledeee1  I had a run in with Jack White in Seattle a few years ago. It was way too loud, but the worst part was his fixation with playing the screechiest guitar notes possible. Fingernails on a blackboard would have seemed melodic by comparis...
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@macg19  I know what you mean about that Who show in Vancouver. I was there. Was that their 1st, 2nd or 5th farewell tour? Sorry to hear about your friend. I can certainly understand how it would escalate to that point. I had a lot of ear ache...
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@lancelock  "Motorhead was ridiculously loud" No kidding.
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@markpao  "They were 1/2 way through November Rain before I even realized what song it was." I had a similar experience with almost every song at a Bob Dylan concert, but it had nothing to do with the loudness.
Name 3 songs where audio quality and song quality completely align
"Roads to Moscow" Al Stewart "I Robot" Alan Parsons Project "Faithless Love" Linda Ronstadt "Alone Again (Naturally)" Gilbert O'Sullivan "Rocket Man" Elton John "Crazy" Patsy Cline "River" (or any of a dozen other songs) Joni Mitchell

Apparently Tom Cruise helped Jimmy Fallon with this setup. Not sure why it looks like he is in a boat. Unseen speakers are Magicos.

Or Jack Nicholson's character in "As Good As It Gets". A very good movie by the way.

How about A Clockwork Orange.
