A nice discussion of reviewers priorities. Agree about HR. Thought about mentioning him AFTER I posted. Both AD and HR are very emotional. AD has admitted soundstaging isn't a concern of his, whereas HR does focus on it. Enjoy reading both of them.Tom

Magico S5 Speaker - SET UP ADVICE PLEASE - Tow-In - Etc. Those S5s would sound a lot better in a dedicated room, with a dedicated line, with acoustic treatments covering some of those hard, reflective surfaces, including those wood floors. The room is responsible for 50% of what you're going to hear.I al...

Speaker phase observation and question? I also have a pair of MA Silver 8s that I fiddled with phase for years, and was never quite happy with the results. They play loud, they play clean, but I never was completely happy with imaging, soundstaging and coherence.Bought a pair of Vanders...
Vandersteen help needed In my almost 14x14 room, after multiple experiments with placement, I've gotten the best, most natural, most holographic sound with my Vandy 2Cs 7 feet apart (measured from the center of the speaker), no toe-in, and 12 inches from the front wall (...
OK, Monitor Audio RX6 or Tannoy XT6F @sfall, agree on all you said. I've still got the 8s in another system, but now am using Vandersteen 2Cs in my primary system. The 8s are easy to drive and don't have any weaknesses. And I would also agree on the Vandy 1Cs in that price range.Tom |
