balanced vs. unbalanced sound quality
Charles1dad ... most things audio have exceptions . I guess in stead of saying my vote was for balanced , I should have said my personal experience and preference was for balanced . I have had no less than 4 solid state power amps , 4 solid state ...

Anyone hear the new Audio Research DS225 pwr amp?
5560 ... I'm in the same boat with the DS450 . I have not been able to hear one or find a review . I'm very sceptical , the price is low , for 450 watts , and these are digital amps . Although A.R.C. has been doing digital longer than anyone .

Downsizing from Ayre MX-R monoblocks
I think ( Driver ) pretty much said what I was thinking . There is no easy way out of owning a big rig , if there was we would all own smaller systems . I have heard few amps at any price that would be as good as Ayres MXRs or KXR . But good luck ...
Anyone try stuffing their ports?
Could not of said it better Mapman , and it did help .
Anyone try stuffing their ports?
Saw your system link ( Nice ) . I've had the best luck with the sub 3 to 4 feet further away from the listener than the speakers , seems to integrate better that way . This is of course system and room dependent , you'll have to try it everywhere ...
If upgrades were no longer possible would you be
I think I would lose interest after a while . Its the great sound that keeps me coming back . Ya Ya , I know , its the music that matters most .
What sounds the best on your system?
