Good carts with SME V
I have tried the following Koetsus on my SME V: Black, Urushi Sky Blue and Coralstone. The Black was a very good match, the Urushi was a tad too romantic, and the Coralstone sounded, well, a bit disappointing. Right now, the Coralstone is mounted ...

Koetsu Black specs:Description: Low-output moving-coil cartridge. Output: 0.6mV. Compliance: 10–12cu (compliance units). Channel separation: >30dB (1kHz). Cantilever: one-piece boron rod. Stylus profile: proprietary (see text). Recommended load...
Good carts with SME V
My friend has an Etna, which sounds very good, and says he likes it better than a wood-body Koetsu. I wonder if a Koetsu might be too smooth-sounding in my already quite tubey system. The Koetsu Black has an aluminum body, and sounds smooth with v...
Good carts with SME V
I would try a Koetsu. Actually, the best match I ever experienced with the SME V was a Koetsu Black.Sorry, no weight, no compliance figure, no resonance measurement, just my experience.
Will fine tune adjustments with protractor help with "brightness?"
I don`t know if it`s any consolation, but I did exactly the same thing. My shirt sleeve caught the back of the counterweight, and sent a Koetsu Urushi spinning across the platter.  Believe me, a Koetsu rebuild is expensive!
Would tonearm with same pivot t9 spindl
Even if you could find a new tonearm with the same pivot-to-spindle distance, you would also need it to have the same armbase diameter as your old one. It would probably be easier to buy (or make) a new armboard.
Why are my woofers pumping?
Where in Norway do you live, o_holter? If you live in, or close to, Bergen, I can lend you a Soundsmith-modified Denon DL 103 R to test out your theory. It should certainly be low-compliance enough.
Turning the volume up
No.
Turning the volume up
I googled your cartridge, and it seems to be a moving magnet. Output is 3.5 mV, which is lowish for a moving magnet, but well within normal range. Cartridge output varies wildly, and if you are happy with the sound of your vinyl, there is IMO no p...

-Which pickup are you using?
Well Tempered/CROFT/Harbeth...London SG or NAGAOKA
+1 for @noromance`s input on the Decca, but with one caveat:  The Deccas are first-class cartridges, but it is not advisable to own one  without having a second cartridge as a go-to for those records which are simply too damaged and warped to be p...
Phono (0.1- 0.22mV+) or step up for LOMC?
The Moon 310 LP will give you 66 dB of gain unbalanced and 72 dB balanced. That would be more than enough gain for an 0.2 mV cart.
Why are my woofers pumping?
From a subsonic filter manufacturer:I initially set my Low Frequency Filter switch to flat until I discovered some very amazing facts. There exists a phenomenon called woofer pumping aka woofer excursion. Frequencies below 20Hz are usually not able...
Best phono cartridge under $350
+ 1 for @chakster ´s thoughts on the Denon DL 103 R. This cartridge is low compliance and low output, and works best in a heavy arm.
Fidelity Research FR-64x
I own both the FR 64 FX and the FR 64 S. Great arms, both of them. It seems that more and more people are aware of them, and the are becoming ever more expensive. I agree with @mulveling that a stone-body Kuetsu sounds great in an FR 64 FX, silver...
